25.01.2022 16th February ITAV Session at West Wyalong Local Aboriginal Land Council - Body Scrubs and Lip balms
24.01.2022 Due to COVID-19 restrictions many services have had to reduce sensory play within their centers. Why is sensory play so important? Sensory activities, in addition to being fun and interesting for babies and young children, encourage children to explore and investigate. Furthermore, these activities support children to use the ‘scientific method’ of observing, forming a hypothesis, experimenting and making conclusions..... We have included a fun but messy sensory activity for you and your child to enjoy! DIY Moon Sand This DIY moon sand uses only 2 ingredients for hours of fun! Here`s how to make it.. Supplies: 8 cups all-purpose flour (not gluten free) 1 cup baby oil or another oil that you'd prefer Large mixing bowl Electric hand beater/wooden spoon Instructions 1.Put all ingredients into a large mixing bowl. 2.Using a electric hand beater/wooden spoon, combine the baby oil and flour well. 3.Put it in a large container outside, and let your children play freely with it. 4.You can put measuring cups, spoons, straws and other items into the container for an even more sensory experience.
24.01.2022 Have some fun and try out this recipe for some super fun light Soap Foam! With three ingredients and buckets of fun here`s how to make it... Ingredients: 2 Tbsp dish soap 1/4 cup water ... Food colouring Electric hand mixer Large bowl/container Instructions: 1. In a bowl, add 2 Tbsp of dish soap and 1/4 cup of water. Add food colouring to the mix if desired. 2. Mix on the highest possible setting for 1-2 minutes. 3.Your foam should be able to form stiff peaks that hold their shape. 4.Scoop it out into your container and repeat as necessary until you have the desired amount of foam! If your child has sensitive skin, you can substitute whatever bubble bath they use for the dish soap in the recipe above. This is not recommended for very young children who may put the soap in their mouths or eyes.
22.01.2022 Have some fun and try out this recipe for some super soft Homemade Rubbery Goop! It is safe and non-toxic using basic ingredients found in your pantry. Here`s how to make it... Ingredients: 2 cups bi-carbonate soda (baking soda)... 1 1/2 cups water 1 cup of cornflour (cornstarch) Food colouring (optional) Instructions: 1. Combine all ingredients into saucepan. 2. Mix the ingredients together using a whisk to remove lumps 3. Heat on stove stirring with wooden spoon 4. Bring the mixture to the boil continuously stirring 5. Small lumps will begin to appear, continue to stir Rubbery Goop can be stretched and pulled apart into smaller pieces (not dry or crumbly) and it all rolls back up into a smooth soft ball. It looks and feels like basic play dough but it is textured differently. and it is smooth, soft and slightly stretchy. https://www.learning4kids.net
