23.01.2022 Are you surprised that the grassroots commUnity we are part of doesn’t have a dedicated vehicle, yet gets 250 plus meals a night, at least 250 cups of coffee and up to 2 1/2 tonnes of clothes & blankets out each night? Then you’d be amazed to know that the 3 grassroots communities Sydney's 24-7 Street Kitchen and Safe Space Community, Blanket Patrol and The Coffee Brigade aim to share one van as they grow their services, while helping local Northern Beaches based Pens and p...aper for purpose and others to facilitate their much needed & appreciated services. Like us these commUnities combine to provide a range of regular flexible just-in-time services with zero structured funding. Together we provide the opportunity for the wider community to participate directly with a platform that delivers the opportunity for ethical giving direct to a grateful struggle street commUnity in need - with 100% of whats contributed going where contributors are told 100% of the time. After a hectic winter expanding as COVID caused big funded organisations to close their doors and with a hectic Christmas ahead the van we’re looking to buy is a must have to keep Sydney City Rough Sleepers & Struggle Street residents provisioned - PLEASE HELP if you can

20.01.2022 Remember Sammy? The legend who grew BPNB and helped grow BP nationally? Well, she had to leave the area last September and make a new life for herself and family in Freo - but her heart is still with the homeless hungry and those who don’t have enough. She saw that there was a problem in Freo and thought that somebody should do something about it - and our legend KNOWS that she is somebody!! The Freo Street Kitchen is the result and for those who don’t know, check out the great work they’ve been doing since Boxing Day. 10.01.2022 We’re ramping up again in readiness for another winter with this generous contribution of amazing quality sleeping bags from Missy and her legendary commUnity, Taoist Home, great support from manager Mark at Anaconda Stores Warringah mall and a huge shoutout to Karen for logistics!! We’ll have some available in Martin Place tonight If you’re looking to join a grassroots commUnity of people that care but put off by how you’ve seen Charities perform, our community not charity may be just what you’re looking for. 06.01.2022 Hi lovely people!! After a short summer hiatus #BlanketPatrolNorthernBeaches are regrouping to service the #homeless and #strugglestreet community across Sydney and Australia. The #BlanketPatrol network we are part of collect and distribute sleeping bags, blankets, clothes in season in very good to new condition, toiletries and womens hygiene products to communities right across Australia ( yes as far away as Blanket Patrol Perth). Last years milestones include:... Distributing thousands of quality new sleeping bags across Australia. Distributing 2 1/2 tonnes of rough sleeper essentials in Sydney in one night. Implementing the transparency standard our network has adopted. Driven by BPNB. As the summer of ‘20/‘21 passes we’re expecting demand for our support to increase and new milestones to be set. We are a kindness and caring based fair sharing community ( not a charity) where 100% of whats given goes to its intended recipients 100% of the time. Our transparency code would make the charity regulator blush. You can come and see where your contribution goes in real time. Receipts for expenditure of monetary contributions are shown down to the last cent. If you’d like to get involved we’re meeting at our Cromer base at 2pm Sunday 14th February. You’ll learn about the activities of our sister communities Pens And Paper 4 Purpose and Sydney's 24-7 Street Kitchen and Safe Space Community too. 01.01.2022 Help #SydneyStreetkitchen need your help. Thinking of our friends in the Covid crisis on the Northern Beaches, and letting everyone know it has also thrown some of our plans around the #8DaysOfChristmas up in the air - but we believe that among or community we have the strength depth and resilience to overcome the most challenging obstacles. Many will remember that we adapted when COVID became a thing and by keeping our eyes on the ball we have the capacity to do so ag...ain. We are not walking forward despite COVID- in fact, we have what we believe are the very best compliances available and in practice in the open air marginalised peoples services space. Additional precautions may be in place by Christmas.
