24.01.2022 We recently helped organise a mural to be painted for SHP - Single Homeless Project at Creekside hostel in Greenwich (London) as part of the SHP opportunities programme for people at risk of experiencing homelessness. We explored the different themes within popular culture with the young people in the hostel to find out what really matters to them, i.e their beliefs, entertainment, sports, brands, heroes, ethnicity and music. The mural aims to be an empowering representatio...n of the young people at Creekside, inspired by the answers they gave in the session. The space is part of a new creative hub so it will be a new chapter for the young people to own this space for future creative activities. The idea is for it to be fun, colourful and fierce, representing the young people in a positive light, the way they should be characterised and illustrated. Our lovely artist Leopards Lunch did an awesome job of capturing the two young residents Alexi and David in the mural who let us know what the mural means to them in this film. It was a humbling experience for us to see the positive impact this will have on their daily lives and also their long-term future, inspiring us on our mission to make a positive difference through art. The vibrancy of the city and its crazy nightlife, with the never-ending labyrinth of neon lights and music clubs inspire many of his paintings. His more organic work represents unique colourful flowers mixed with the surreal lighting of fluorescent tubes.... 10.01.2022 Earlier this week we had the opportunity to paint a mural for the good people at Clipper Teas who are doing their bit for the environment by becoming the worlds first tea company to make all their teabags plant-based and fully biodegradable (basically plastic-free but they arent allowed to say plastic-free see next post for the story). 07.01.2022 We were recently commissioned by @o2music to complete a mural on the iconic @o2academybrix as part of a project called This is just an interval Anyone in London knows this venue sits in the heart of the Brixton community so we were tasked to bring it back to life, painting the exterior boards with an uplifting message of hope and reassurance that this much loved venue will reopen and turn up the volume as soon as its safe to do so.
