21.01.2022 Anyone else feel like good things are coming your way when a ladybug lands on you? Its pretty magical and leaves me with an intense feeling of being a exactly where Im supposed to be in that moment. I was at the park, enjoying the sunshine with Mr B at the time and it hit me how lucky I am to be living this life and being able to spend my mornings, days and nights on my own schedule because I chose to be my own boss. ... Ive been feeling a bit stuck lately, not trusting my intuition, doubting myself more than I should and just living too much in the future. I never knew, how much I loved my bonus babies until the smallest and the only one that I carried was born. It wasn't until that day that I knew, the love that I already had, the immense heart wrenching love I had for our oldest bonus babies was absolutely no different than the love I felt for our son. I run my business with an almost 2 year old at home with me full time which means, I work weekends, nights and nap times and any other free minute when the small human is occupied.... .... . 14.01.2022 Overwhelmed. Scared as fuck. Hopeful. Our life as we know it has changed forever. It won't ever be the same again. I'm okay with that. I'm also okay with finding a new level of 'normal', because well, what's the alternative. This pandemic is sweeping the globe and it's taking no prisoners. ... Anxiety is high, stress is high, feelings are high. I've had a few reality checks in the last few days that have made me STOP and reassess, This is what I learned, 1. Balance. Find your balance in this chaos. Do whatever you need to do to make yourself feel yourself. Read a book, Go for a walk ( keeping your distance ) , Reconnect. 2. Be positive. Positivity is a choice, a conscious decision. There's a lot of negativity spewing about. I'm not saying you can fix that, but someone hearing the light in your voice in these trying times might be the difference in their day. 3. Be realistic. No-one has been through this before. There is no precedent here. We're writing the rules here and we need to be patient with ourselves and each other. 4. Feel. Feel those feelings, embrace them however they come and then let them pass. Chances are there is someone, somewhere feeling exactly the same way, We're literally all in this together. So support each other and lean in when you need to. 5. Connect. Call your friends. Call your family. Check-in and see how they are. I've had a few people say to me how nice it has been to have calls from loved ones, friends, colleagues just to check-in and see how they are doing and if they are okay. 5. We are ALL IN THIS TOGETHER. No - one is immune. Race, Religion, Age, Social Standing. It means literally nothing. We are all just fighting this fight the best we can. Support each other while you can and please, please. STAY AT HOME. It's the only tool we have to protect ourselves and each other. This is a state of emergency we're in. It's up to us. Love Sal. 10.01.2022 SELF CARE Ive been putting off booking in this massage for months. My mum gave me a voucher for Mothers Day and I just hadnt got around to booking it. But today was the day - an hour to myself with a full body massage ... Nothing went right. Woke up late because the little man was unsettled because of the weather. Ran out of the house with 0 minutes to spare. My hair tie snapped in the car. The guilt of leaving my cherubs at home with their Dad while I went and spent my morning doing something just for me. But... I got there and let it all go. Because now was the me time. And it was PURE BLISS! I realised how important it is to prioritise self care and do something for yourself. I used to get massages regularly but since having my business and my little cherub I just never seem to get the time. All I can say is. I WILL be making them a part of my routine. Because that hour that I devoted to me, was nothing short of magical + everyone deserves a little pampering and magic in their lives. The ladies @eco.spa made me feel like nothing short of a pampered queen and I left feeling lighter than air. Ps. 08.01.2022 I've learned alot about myself over the years. I've learnt about the way my brain functions, what works, what doesn't. Business is alot like that. You 'think' that you should be portaying a version of yourself that resonates with people, that appeals to people, that will make you seem like the 'ideal' person to work with. But, You know what? That's fucking tiring. ... I decided that Being authentic. Being yourself. Owning your truth made more sense for me and my business than anything I was putting stupid amounts of energy into with little results. It was realising that I AM my business. ME. I attract the energy I put out into the universe..... and it sounds cliche, Because it is. But your tribe WILL find you. I'm not the most detail oriented. I often have to look over the same file 10,000 times to make sure I haven't missed something. But what I lack in details I make up in creativity, expression, unique ideas and that's what my clients care about. That I'm able to get inside their brains and pull out the things they didn't know were in there. Little things can be fixed but if they don't like the overall design I produce - What's the fucking point? Would I like to be better at the finer details, Sure! But do I sit up and worry about it. NOPE! I just own my strengths, acknowlege my weaknesses and go about it the only way I know how. So, Be fucking fearless. Just rock what you have. Don't worry about the rest because it all finds a way of balancing out in the end.
