15.01.2022 Deadhangs. An exercise that many despise and reportedly cannot do due to sweating/slippery hands. But more likely is more to do with grip strength, shoulder and core strength. So why should we do them each week? - decompress your spine from lifts, squats and just general daily life of sitting and sleeping. ... - to improve your pull ups, knees to chest, rows, deadlifts, farmers walks with greater grip, hand, forearm and shoulder strength and mobility/range of motion gained from weekly hang time. It also toughens your skin on your hands! - improve posture - increase strength and the stretch in your lats to help with push/pull exercises. - improve core strength. - to have fun with your kids on the monkey bars! So simply find a bar, there are so many about now even if you don't go to a gym, and hang! Key points - straight arms, feet off the ground upper body relaxed breathing relaxed remain still hang for a beginning of 10 seconds, and gradually increase the time as you can. Once you can hang for 1 minute, you can attempt single arm hangs! 1- 3 times a week. Have fun, and enjoy the benefits of increased grip strength in your training and daily life.



13.01.2022 Endorphins! Not just from running, they are like a natural drug released into your brain, that can come from any doing exercise. It will leave you feeling naturally high and craving more, a great motivator and positive helper to mental and physical health I guess this is why many of us are labelled exercise addicts, (I know I am, and that's ok!) and in a way we are, from this amazing, naturally occurring 'drug'! And even if you don't feel like starting exercise one day, ...give yourself 10 minutes, and let this super chemical work its magic (and if it's an off day and it ain't happening, then allow that, and get back into it the next day, or change direction for something else, like a gentle walk. I love supporting people, and helping people overcome fears and see the power and joy in movement, not just physically, but mentally. You deserve this. See more
