23.01.2022 November 12, 2019, was the first of many difficult days we would face as a as a result of the Gospers Mountain fire. While the effects of the fire are still being felt in many ways across the broader community, like then, we are all still working together.
23.01.2022 Sally is ready for the fire season, are you?
23.01.2022 Our brigade is very grateful to the community for their ongoing support through the generous donations that we have been receiving. In past few months, our brigade had three iPads donated to us which will be used in our response vehicles and also at our station. A BIG thank you has to go to Mel from The Deli LaNa Kurmond & The Deli LaNa Kurrajong who has pulled these donations together, and as you can see by her uniform, Mel has also joined our brigade as a member! ... Our first iPad was from donations that Mel received from our local community and also a very generous contribution from North Rocks Preschool. Stephen from Stephen Jennings & Associates and John and Sandra from Waste Options Australia donated the other two iPads. Donations like these greatly increase the effectiveness of our brigade, and we really appreciate all those who contributed.
20.01.2022 A reminder that today is a TOTAL FIRE BAN day. A total fire ban means no fires out in the open. A total fire ban helps limit the potential of fires developing. During a Total Fire Ban you cannot light, maintain or use a fire in the open, or to carry out any activity in the open that causes, or is likely to cause, a fire.... General purpose hot works (such as welding, grinding or gas cutting or any activity that produces a spark or flame) are not to be done in the open. Find out more here https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au//fdr-and-t/total-fire-ban-rules Please report all fires by calling 000.
20.01.2022 We encourage you to check in with your family, friends, work and brigade colleagues to make sure they R OK!

16.01.2022 During last years fire season, one of our crews were faced with this scenario at a property in Colo Heights. The time between the first photo and the last was approximately 30 minutes. This particular property was well prepared and the resident stayed with our crew during the impact, the dwelling was saved. Would you be prepared if you faced this same scenario at your own property this fire season? If your plan is to leave early, when would you leave? Leaving early is the sa...fest option, but don't wait for "something" to happen prior to leaving as that may be too late. Come and have a chat with our team this Saturday from 10am to 4pm. We can discuss your "stay and defend" or your "leave early" plan. Know what you would do in these circumstances and don't leave it too late to activate your bushfire survival plan.

08.01.2022 Due to the recently announced COVID restrictions which impact our brigades operations, unfortunately we will be unable to proceed with our Christmas Eve Santa Run. Our brigade will still be available for emergency response. We would like to thank our community for their ongoing support and wish you all a safe and Merry Christmas.
08.01.2022 Although the properties in our brigade area were not impacted by the Gospers Mt fire last fire season, we were expected to be on several occasions. If you look around as you drive through our area, you will see that there is still plenty of unburnt bush surrounding us. BE PREPARED, it can happen again this fire season and we may not get all the warnings we got last time! Fact: Only 6.9% of NSW was impacted by bush fire in the 2019/20 fire season. This means there is a significant bush fire risk for the coming 2020/21 fire season. It only takes 5 minutes to improve or make a plan that will give your property, your family and yourself the best chance of survival. Get ready now at www.myfireplan.com.au If you need help with your plan, call into our station this Saturday from 10am to 4pm, we can help you prepare!
