25.01.2022 This is the best story of community support for 2020.
24.01.2022 Program focusing on the effects of the fires in Southern NSW and echos a lot of what we have seen in the Bombala district ... All our camps in the region have many more months of work to do. https://www.abc.net.au/4corners/hard-winter/12426966
24.01.2022 It may be summer else where in the world but here in Bombala it’s Christmas! Our volunteers from all around the world decorated the camp, and enjoyed a christmas roast which we shared with local farmers. We even had a extra flurry of christmas with some snow!
23.01.2022 Congratulations to all our volunteers! Good to see all our hard work is being recognised.
23.01.2022 Some of our volunteers have moved onto planting trees to continue their support for the Bombala community and earn a few $$$’s to continue their Australian adventure.Paul-André Prud'hon Estelle Charléty Dan Fernandes Angeles Cortés
16.01.2022 Yesterday we had the privilege to host the ACT Brumbies! We showed them first hand what it’s like to be a BlazeAid volunteer. Not only did they show us an incre...dible amount of support, they also had to opportunity to fence on a property, meeting the owner and seeing how the bushfires have affected the local community. We are so grateful for such an experience & hopefully we will see them again. See more
15.01.2022 Last week, the Bombala and Towamba camps had a whale of a time! We were fortunate to see a teenage humpback whale breach about thirteen times. A great day with these gentle giants! Thanks Cat Balou Cruises for looking after us all.
14.01.2022 Here is the Citation for the Queens award that BlazeAid just received ‘Rhonda and I started BlazeAid in Australia after the fatal Black Saturday fires in 2009 pledging to help - with local volunteers- a few dozen of our immediate neighbors to rebuild their burnt fencing over 14 days. The idea caught on and in the ensuing ten years, volunteers have poured in from all over Australia and the world to physically help others impacted by our country’s yearly recurrence of fires, ...floods and cyclones. After almost 250 natural disasters, hundreds of thousands of volunteers, farmers, donors and local communities have teamed together to rebuild 14,000 kilometres of new fencing, 400,000 working days on 9000 devastated farms. The value of work done by BlazeAid volunteers who make such a difference to the lives of others - who have lost almost everything they hold dear - is in the hundreds of millions of dollars. BlazeAid is almost totally volunteerism with just one paid bookkeeper. Today, BlazeAid has 26 base camps running over three states from Kangaroo Island in South Australia, throughout NSW and right up to the Queensland border following the 2019/20 Australian mega fires last Summer. Volunteers have been working shoulder to shoulder - with hundreds of farming families daily - seven days a week non stop rebuilding what fires destroyed in just minutes. Rhonda and I wake up every morning being so grateful to the thousands of blazeaid volunteers who selflessly make a massive difference to the physical, and mental health of hundreds of vulnerable country families in these devastated communities. Rhonda and I salute all blazeaid volunteers who enrich the lives of others everyday and it is them we humbly accept the award on behalf of- for these wonderful and dedicated volunteers have made BlazeAid a most loved and respected Australian charity. 09.01.2022 This mother of 4 and Grandma of 10 has been working hard repairing farm fences for the last 4 months which were destroyed in the December bushfires, the work is voluntary and we are both proud to belong to an organization like Blazeaid helping farming families recover from the devastation, we encourage all those reading this to join us and make a real difference. Blazeaid are there where the need is, not just fixing fences but all sorts of work and are scattered throughout Victoria and NSW and other area's, they welcome the help even a couple of weeks can have a big impact on people of this country who lost everything.
08.01.2022 It was great to see Brian and Zak from Season 1 over the weekend. We continued the Tim Tam tradition out at John's place.
08.01.2022 We took the crew down to Tantawagelo today for a great lunch ... I just want to say a huge thank you to David Johnson who has been with us since March here in Bombala he was our 1st volunteer and is continuing his support he is here for the long run ... without his support this camp could not have been what it is ... Dave is our tool guy and has racked up over 35,000 kms in his own car delivering materials, going out to farms and supporting the camp ... he is the embodiment of the Blazeaid spirit this has kept this camp going ... nothing is ever too much to ask, nothing is ever a problem and nothing cannot be worked out ... Mate I thank you for help, support and friendship... Stuart
07.01.2022 The latest addition to our camp ... "Twitch" with Niki ... Twitch was abandoned by his mum after a week and will spend the next six weeks being hand feed by our volunteers.
06.01.2022 We had a little visitor drop into camp today... #bombala #blazeaid
05.01.2022 Hi from Kiwi in Goongerah, just finshed a vehicle entrance for a local farmer, he was having real trouble with people driving into and across his property. Dece...mber fires had destroyed his fences and gates, Because he had no stock he had to wait a while but today he is a very happy resident. See more
05.01.2022 Looks like Christmas has come early for our volunteers! Special thanks to Trevor Michael and Lynne for organising a delivery of socks. They will definitely be keeping us warm!

01.01.2022 BlazeAid will still have some camps operating this summer especially in Southern NSW. #blazeaidcobargo #blazeaidtowamba #blazeaidbemboka... #blazeaidbombala The traditional backbone of volunteers for BlazeAid are the amazing Grey Nomads or independent travellers. For the last six months we have had many volunteers from overseas through our camps which means we can provide accommodation, in the form of a swift shelter. As you can see from the pictures these can make a cosy little habitat. So all you need is clothes and bedding to join one of our camps. Please share far and wide with your networks, it would be great to see some young Aussie's on the fence lines.
01.01.2022 We are also struggling for volunteers here in Bombala, we still have many Km's of fencing to go so please share with your friends and encourage them to come to Bombala. https://www.begadistrictnews.com.au//making-a-difference/
