06.01.2022 BlazeAid Moruya is now re-open for volunteering to help rebuild fencing across the Eurobodalla Shire after the 2019/2020 mega bushfires! Although this camp has never stopped working, we have unfortunately been unable to welcome new volunteers since the beginning of the Covid-19 lockdown. People wanting to help our fire devastated communities are asked to phone the office on 0435 585 988, camp coordinator Mary Howarth on 0429 367 538, or email [email protected] and as...k about what they can do to help. Locals are more than welcome to help out as little or as much as they can. We are particularly in need of volunteers with 4WD and towing capacity so that we can get volunteers and trailers out to jobs. Major shopping centres in Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide now have free testing for Covid-19 and if you are from the city, BlazeAid strongly urges you to get yourself tested and stay in isolation while awaiting results before heading to any camp. The COVIDSafe app is easy to download and you are strongly encouraged to have it before coming to any BlazeAid camp. Social distancing, washing hands regularly and disinfecting common surfaces are mainstream in BlazeAid camps so please help us keep this culture going. Please be aware that you will be asked several questions by the base camp coordinator to ascertain whether you are a low risk to other BlazeAid volunteers. Preference will be given to volunteers who say they will stay for a long period of time or/and have their own accommodation and transport. BlazeAid Moruya is looking forward to having the camp at full capacity once again so that we can maximise the help we can provide to the local community, who so desperately need it.

03.01.2022 Old and new fencing together on one of the properties we’re working on this week. All our volunteers are happy to be helping the local community rebuild, one strainer post at a time!

01.01.2022 This kookaburra didn’t waste any time before checking out this new fence line!

01.01.2022 Although we normally fence to contain cattle, horses and sheep, sometimes more unusual animals show up on the job!
