24.01.2022 We are sad to say goodbye to our coordinators Richard and Nollaig. Richard arrived in camp in the first week of June, and Nollaig joined us in the middle of that month. They are both backpackers who were keen to assist in a fire affected area. Nollaid and Richard stepped up as the coordinators at the end of June, when Ron & Dianne (our previous coordinators) left. They have done an amazing job. With their calm and thoughtful approach, they led a little army of backpackers and... Australian volunteers. During their time in Tumbarumba, the team cleared more than 25 kms, and completed approx. 29 kms of fencing work. And all that during the cold winter months!!! Work on 23 farms was completed during their stay, and an impressive 1178 dinners were prepared! We will miss you immensely, and the Tumbarumba community thank you for your fantastic efforts. Also leaving us will be Steve & Elien, who have taken care of admin for the Tumba Blaze Aid camp since February. Thanks go to them for helping set up camp admin, and their continued support in entering and providing data when needed. The work is not done yet, and Blaze Aid Tumba will continue to assist our local community.

24.01.2022 The support just keeps on coming at Blaze Aid Tumbarumba! This is one of the two Ford Rangers provided by Ford Austrailia through Biti Motors Culcairn with the much appreciated help from Paul Biti. We can't thank these guys enough in helping us do what we came here to do, to get out and help our locals rebuild.... #tumbarumba #blazeaid #visitsnowyvalleys #visituppermurray #backpackers #visa417 #88days #australianfires #volunteering #fencing #bushfires #brazilianaid #bushfirerecovery #emptyesky #manyhandsmakelightwork

04.01.2022 HELP! BLAZE AID TUMBARUMBA CAMP COORDINATOR NEEDED After months of hard work and dedication it's time for Coordinator Ron and Dianne to take a well earned break.... So we are looking for people with Blaze Aid experience or a motivated couple of backpackers to take on our camp! Tumbarumba is a brilliant camp with a consistently solid number of volunteers, quickly bouncing back from the COVID-19 restrictions. We are located in a supportive community and have great facilities to support us in our goal - to help in the bushfire recovery!
