We would like to invite Blazers and Burners from Western Australia and the wider Australian Burner community to share with us your stories, articles, insights and updates on what people are up to throughout the current global pandemic situation. How are the current times effecting or inspiring your projects for the future?... How has it impacted your theme camp or group and what are your plans moving forward? Did the year off between events allow time to think, plan bigger and better or better define what your ultimate aim is? How has it impacted your personal practice as an artist? With such separation throughout a lockdown for a close community, did Burn culture and principles carry into your default world more or less so? Is your Burners without Borders project taking off or would you like to callout for people to help start a local initiative? Burners are a resourceful bunch and are always finding ways to better the world through endless ideas. We want to give a platform for Blazers and Burners to share their stories and bring the community closer through insights and storytelling within the cyber realm. If you have anything you would like to share with our Community through our Website, Social Media and Newsletter then we would love to hear from you. 15.01.2022 The Swan's Nest We're proud to announce that The Swans Nest in Fremantle will open for business to the general public with normal operating hours from today, Saturday Aug 1st. Covid-19 has given the Nest a hard run but behind the scenes we have taken the opportunity to tidy up the warehouse, creating space for new projects or any storage needs you might have.... The Nest offers our community affordable membership packages to access and use the facilities and includes training in the safe operation of a wide selection of equipment we have here. So, if you've been putting off that amazing creative project for too long, now’s the time to jump on board and get 'er done! Please note that Covid restrictions are still in place so please follow signage if you visit, respect physical distancing guidelines whilst at the Nest and please stay home if you are not feeling well. 09.01.2022 OVER 50% TICKET SOLD (& RESELLING) Amazing! We've sold over 50% of the Blazetacular tickets - thanks for everyone's amazing support . If you're looking to grab a ticket or find out more event information please head to blazingswan.com.au/blazetacular... --------------- A QUICK NOTE ON RESELLING AND SCAMMERS. You may have seen on other events in the community that people have been scamming on tickets - typically this can be selling a ticket which doesn't exist or selling the same ticket multiple times to different people. Our event may have similar issues and we're keeping an eye on this. At the moment we are not switching over to a reselling platform like Tixel - in a hope that we can help save the community some money. Transfers cost money and we're trying to keep this a low-cost event for everyone. Some points for thought on how to protect yourself: - The best source of tickets is Blazing Swan - head to the website and buy direct. You know there won't be an issue. - If you do choose to buy a resell; try and pick one up from someone you know and trust - If you see a post from someone trying to sell - play digital detective;- have a look at their profile and see if you have common friends, are they a part of the community.... basically detective their shit like when you find an ex is dating a new partner ;) - If in doubt, and you want to protect yourself. Look at ticketing reselling platforms like Tixel, ask the buyer to use those platforms to sell to you. This can be done independently and for a small fee will help protect you. The Blazing Swan Comms Team will continue to monitor the situation and advise you if anything changes, but please take care of yourselves in the online space. Thanks again for supporting the event.
