19.01.2022 NSW Update effective 20th March 2020 The NSW Office has accounted significant changes to the Residential Tenancies Amendment ACT 2018 and Residential Tenancies Amendment Act 2019 Listed below are the changes that will come into effected on the 23rd of March 2020. ... Rent increases must be limited to once per year. Landlords but have tenants written consent to publish photographs and video recordings of the premises. This including the propertys interiors for advertising purposes which will possibly show tenants possessions. With the landlords consent, tenants may make minor modifications, fixates, additions and renovations to the property. The landlord cannot unreasonably withhold consent if the alteration is one form a prescribed list in the 2019 Regulation. Repairs and replacements of hardwired smoke alarms must be conducted by an electrician. Not paying water usage and utility charges may result in tenancy agreement being terminated.
