25.01.2022 The children love our pet chickens and helping us take care of them! Yesterday they fed them, gave them a pat and collected the eggs! #blinkybillpreschool

25.01.2022 A beautiful mess, this week the Wombats explored with seeds, the children helped to collect some soil from the garden, we then inspected the roots of each plant, we picked a seed that we would like to grow, we added soil, our seeds, more soil and gave them a spray of water before positioning them in the sunlight. Were excited to watch them grow!

24.01.2022 Today the Wombat’s and Possum’s received a visit from Kylie the dentist so that they could learn about dental hygiene, how to take care of our teeth, healthy food groups and much more. We learnt that our teeth are for chewing foods, showing our smile and helping us to communicate. To care for our teeth properly the children were told how important it is to brush our teeth every MORNING and NIGHT. This will keep our teeth clean and help prevent them getting any holes. Kylie th...en showed us the process of brushing our teeth circles at the front and sides, scrubs on our back teeth and flicks behind the bottom teeth. She brought along her toy dinosaur Freddy so that all of the children were able to see him demonstrating the correct techniques of brushing teeth. This was a lot of fun! After this we discussed the importance of eating healthy foods as this will help take care of our teeth. We played a guessing game that involved having to distinguish foods that are good and bad for our teeth. Many of the children expressed that they were afraid to go to the dentist so Kylie showed them a step-by-step procedure of what happens when we visit the dentist and why it is important that we visit them on a regular basis. 19.01.2022 Last week the Wombats enjoyed exploring bugs through a few different experiences, they observed the bugs on the table and used the paint to create their own, as well as completing some symmetry drawing of bugs too!

17.01.2022 Last week the children used collage materials to design their own cameras. This week they used their camera to go exploring through the outback to find different animals and insects.

13.01.2022 This week, we recycled some of our books from our book basket that were a little worse for wear. We gave them a new life and cut out the pictures from the books and added them to our collage clippings.

04.01.2022 As part of making the Wombat's transition to primary school a happy and smooth one, we are hosting Big School week at Blinky Bill Preschool from 16th 20th November We are encouraging all voluntary participants to send your child in their big school uniform and bring along a lunch box with school snacks (we will be providing sandwiches for lunch) In doing this we will be fostering the children's independence and self-help skills as well as building up their excitement for the big move after Christmas.
