24.01.2022 Soccer star cake for my soccer loving Benny! All my boys are soccer obsessed, so it comes as no surprise when they ask for soccer cakes. My Benny usually has no requests apart from chocolate! But this year he actually asked to have a soccer player somewhere. He said whatever is easiest Mum! It was just a small cake required, as we just had our family over for lunch. So I came across this soccer player graphic and loved it and decided that I wanted that to be my main... design element. So I hand painted that image and when painting that I was wondering where to paint the ball and as I looked over at my cake I thought I would make the ball 3D and look like it was a goal coming out the side of the cake! The rest of the cake was simply enhanced with buttercream grass! The cake was layers of vanilla and choc cake sandwiched between layers of luscious buttercream and mini choc chips! 22.01.2022 Ice cream Glitterati Birthday Cake I have made beautiful Ivy’s birthday cakes since she was 2! This beautiful girl is now 6! This year it was all about ice cream, balloons and glitter! I have a bit of an obsession with cake duos and this seemed another good reason for a duo! My inspiration for the cakes was the glitter wall and balloons used for the party by @highsocietyeventhiresydney This was the inspiration for my extra tall tier cake. Pastel glitter covered tier wit...h lots of fondant balloons floating above. For my other tier I saw a cake on Pinterest by @bellysbakeshop and knew that it would be the perfect match for this duo. Buttercream covered with a geode style ice cream detail down the front. To tie in the whole effect I chose to cover the board in lots of different sprinkles. It tied it all together! 20.01.2022 Lagavulin Whiskey Barrel Cake I made this cake last weekend for the son of one of oldest school friends. It feels somewhat surreal that so much time has passed and now we are celebrating 18th birthdays for our children. The whiskey barrel is carved caramel cake carved and then the fondant wooden panels airbrushed for the wood effect. The Lagavulin bottle has a distinctive bottle shape and that was also airbrushed for the whiskey colour. The bottle labels were painted. Th...e ice cubes are isomalt. Happy 18th Jesse! 20.01.2022 Solar System birthday cake by #blissfullysweet featuring painted planets encircling the cake. Both tiers have a moon crater silver lid and then wrapped in a midnight blue fondant. The galaxy look was achieved with dusting colours and I had fun with an old paint brush and silver paint, which I splattered across the cake to create the millions of stars. #blissfullysweetcakes #sydneycakes #spacecake #solarsystemcake

19.01.2022 M&Ms Birthday Cake Welcome to 2021 and my first cake for the year! I am feeling very cautious about the year to come but I know something is going to go alright when this is my first cake! I love my clients! My lovely client Berna came to me again and this time asked for a duo of cakes for two special upcoming birthdays. It was Berna who showed me the pic of my M&M cake that I did for my Nosh and said I want this but can we have one peanut m&m picking his nose and the other... one handing over a tissue?! See this, THIS is why I friggen love my clients! The main work in this cake was the structure and boy did I nail that! This puppy was so easy to transport and nothing moved at all. 90% of this cake is all edible and the other 10% is the structure! There was also a few dozen m&m cupcakes that with the cake. 18.01.2022 Yeehaw Cowgirl 21st Birthday Cake My lovely next door neighbour's daughter celebrated her 21st birthday last night and man oh man I wish I didn't go away this weekend, so I could've witnessed this fun fest! A western party with mechanical bull and a taco truck! Ella was not overly fussed with what cake she would get. Just something western themed. It automatically made me think back to a cake I made about 7 years ago and I knew it would be perfect with a few little chang...es! Bottom tier is denim jean inspired with cowgirl belt buckle. The top tier is a cowhide look with a bandanna band. A silver horse shoe sat a top the cake with a gold sheriff's badge for the birthday girl's name. Everything is handmade and completely edible. The cake was a chocolate/vanilla marble cake. Happy 21st Birthday Miss Ella! I hope you had the best night.

The cake is a zesty orange almond cake layered with orange & pistachio swiss meringue buttercream. The cake is Gryffindor in colour inside and out. 13.01.2022 Ankylosaurus Prehistoric Birthday Cake Master Kiaan celebrated his birthday over the weekend and he loves dinosaurs and especially Ankylosaurus'. His lovely mum found a pic of the last dinosaur cake that I made for my nephew and loved that one, so I made a few little tweaks and gave it an Ankylosaurus touch.... The cake is chocolate cake layered and covered in luscious buttercream with a carved dinosaur footprint in front. The florals are real, the cake board is covered in biscuit crumbs and then there is the Ankylosaurus. He is handmade with fondant to create his telltale spiny demeanour. I then coloured him up using Edible Art Paint and then finishing with layers of lustre dust. Happy Birthday Kiaan!

13.01.2022 Back in June and deep in COVID, I made this little cake for a special young lady’s birthday. She is my son’s girlfriend, his best friend. In turn she is like family to us too. She is sweetness and kindness. She makes my boy happy which makes me happier. So I made her a special little cake to celebrate at her family dinner. 13.01.2022 Jumping Fairies Birthday Cake This was one of three cakes that I made before Christmas last year in a week that was extremely busy. I always love making a cake for Nava and this year it was all about fairies and jumping fairies at that. With the party being held at @skyzoneau , I kept the main theme of the cake to the fairies and to keep in line with the jumping element I created a trio of cakes that sat together at different heights to symbolise trampolines. It was a very Mo...dernist take on this and the inspiration for the fairies and the balloons came from the extremely creative @maryronisevents who was styling the event. it is hard to tell from the light in the picture, but the whole cake was covered in Luster and was so beautifully girly to look at. 10.01.2022 Reach for the Stars Ft. Dr Seuss. Dr Seuss is all I think of for graduations. His iconic book quotes are whimsical and perfect. My Benny graduates from primary school this year! He is so super excited to join his big brother at high school, but a little sad also to leave Noah behind at primary school. But for me on the other hand I am a little nervous, excited for him and just super duper sad that this time has flown by so fast. Our school community is our life source. ... For me, I have found my people, a school that nurtures and cares for its students and their families. For Ben, he has found himself - a soul that is pure and reserved, that is eager to learn and help and one that is truly yearning to change the world. He found his small group of people and I know that next year, he will find more of himself and find out what he is truly destined for. I kept all this in mind, and knew that I wanted to encapsulate that all into one cake. I wanted to create something that featured reaching up to the stars. I finally came up with this design to give the look I envisaged. To me a cake should have meaning. Especially a graduation cake because the cake and graduation is celebrating not only that day but a whole period of time leading up to that. That’s what I wanted to create, a cake that showed the journey. I chose a simple line sketch drawing at the front of the cake depicting children reaching up above them. I wanted this storybook like so that it would fit in with the rest of the cake. The bottom section of the cake is all Dr Seuss inspired and everything above is their dreams to reach to. As far as the stars, but close enough to reach! Congratulations Year 6 Graduates 2019! You will indeed change the world for the better!

10.01.2022 Peppa Pig Playdoh Cake A Peppa Pig cake for twin girls who both love Peppa! One loves PP Playdoh and the other loves all things Peppa. I chose a deconstructed two tiered cake so that the girls could each have their own cake. One focussed on the Playdoh theme with the cake formed into a Playdoh bucket with a moulded Peppa, rolling pin, and Peppa cookie cutters all from fondant. The other cake was a fun take on Peppa. The usual sky and hills scene was created on the extra tall tier all from coloured tessellated hexagons. I loved this effect. I created a PP themed wreath for the front of the cake and then a big happy sun for the top of the cake. The end result was lots of Peppa fun but with a little different creative fun. 09.01.2022 Flower Pot Cupcakes I made these flower pot cupcakes last weekend for a beautiful friends daughters birthday party. Pippa loves everything to do with flowers and for her birthday her beautiful mamma organised a party where the girls could flower arrangements and flower crowns and be wowed with a beautiful high tea. I made these two pots of cupcakes for the girls. One pot had buttercream finished hydrangea style cupcakes and the other had fondant topped bloom cupcakes. 07.01.2022 I have been really slack with posting of cake pics for a long while now (over a year ) for no other reason than the CBF factor! I love making cakes. I love to bring something special to someone’s special day. The whole posting it and sharing it, just became a huge task that never really interested me. But yesterday as I was editing some pics from the weekend, I came across dozens of pics of cakes from the last year or more, that I almost even forgot about them.
