25.01.2022 Breathing exercises are so powerful. A little can go a long way. Certain simple exercises can at once promote good-quality yin and yang as they simultaneously relax and focus the mind. In Ayurveda it is believed that the mind affects the body. When the mind is relaxed and focusedrepresenting a mentalbalance of yin and yangthe effects trickle down to the body, calming the nervoussystem and irrigating our tissues and organs with qi or prana.

24.01.2022 Ginger lemon water is incredibly powerful to wake you up, wake up your digestion, and cleanse the digestive tract. It’s especially good to drink first thing in the morning. And even more especially after eating too much the day before. Ginger lemon tea is not something to be sipping all day as the lemon juice can start to wear down the enamel of your teeth, especially if you drink it all day, every day. Ginger tea by itself is fine to drink all day (except if you are high Pitta/have a Pitta imbalance). Did you know? The ginger root needs to be boiled to release its good qualities, but the lemon doesn’t. Boiling lemon will destroy the vitamin C in it. So when you prepare ginger lemon, boil the ginger and water, and when it’s ready let it cool slightly. Then add the lemon.

23.01.2022 There she is. . . the "too much" woman. The one who loves too hard, feels too deeply, asks too often, desires too much. There she is taking up too much space, with her laughter, her curves, her honesty, her sexuality. Her presence is as tall as a tree, as wide as a mountain. Her energy occupies every crevice of the room. Too much space she takes. There she is causing a ruckus with her persistent wanting, too much wanting. She desires a lot, wants everythingtoo much happiness...Continue reading

04.01.2022 Happy 98th birthday to my amazing gramps. If it wasn't for him I would not be doing the incredible work I do now. He is the reason I have such a love for India, taking me there when I was just 14. He has encouraged me to continue learning more about Ayurveda and is such an inspiration. He holds a very special place in my heart.

03.01.2022 According to Ayurveda’s elemental theory, Fire and Water are most at play during the summer months. It’s the time of year when the energy of the Pitta Dosha reigns providing a strong fire to fuel the many purification and transformation processes it’s so well recognized for. Responsible for all metabolism, cognition, and understanding, the Pitta dosha brings about the qualities of light, heat, and oiliness to name a few. It represents transformation itself. When in bala...nce, people with a Pitta constitution have a strong power of comprehension and charisma. When imbalanced, feelings of jealousy or hate can arise as do fire-related physical ailments in the body like arthritis, bursitis, acid reflux, psoriasis, hives, or conjunctivitis. So try these 5 Ayurvedic tips for summer and keep Pitta’s flame from burning your whole house down. 5 Ayurvedic Tips for Summer Heat Limit spicy, fried foods. We should already be doing this anyway, right? Give yourself a daily massage with coconut or sunflower oil before getting in the shower (15) fifteen minutes later to rinse. This is best done in the morning. Avoid prolonged sun or steam exposure wear a hat, find some shade, limit your time in the steam room or shower to no more than (5) five minutes. Schedule your exercise for early morning when it’s cooler. Wear light cotton or silk clothing that is loose fitting. Add more cooling, bitter, or astringent foods like pears, coconuts, quinoa, and cranberries to your diet. Posted ByHerbal Academy

03.01.2022 The mind and body are powerfully connected, and the balance between the health of both is crucial to your overall wellbeing. One can’t function without the other

02.01.2022 Usually I go with the flow- But- Professional athletes are classed as essential workers under the Victorian government's latest advice, as are the staff "attending to ensure the safe running of the event". Venues hosting professional sport events are allowed to remain open, but spectators are banned.... This got my goat. The treatments i cancelled last weekend for people who needed some care The treatments I cancelled this week during lockdown for people who needed a break Massage Therapists who provide care Yoga Teachers who provide care How are we not essential to the care and well-being of our community. I would suggest if Professional Athletes were classed as Essential Workers in Victoria, and their staff, Then we as massage therapists, yoga teacher, fitness trainers personal trainers are also Essential Workers to support the Mental and Physical Health of people in such trying times. Really. Somewhere priorities are different. www.blissfulsoul.com.au
