Back a few weeks, in the Early Lock-Down Era, Campaign Brief Magazine announced their 2019 Agency of the Year winners. Having won the Challenger Agency of the Year title se...veral times, we decided that this year we would take on the traditional ad agencies in the Agency of the Year category. While we will always consider ourselves a challenger agency, we felt it was time to challenger more directly. The result: "Block moved firmly into Agency of the Year contention" and we were named Finalist. But unlike with some sectors of the economy, there is something you can do to help. WA makes incredible beers and there really is no need to drink the product of the multinationals right now. Please, d...ont stop drinking (that would be crazy - we need it more than ever!) but when you go to the bottle shop to get something to get you through your isolation, please buy local. 11.01.2022 March-April-May 2020: The thing about working from home was your workday felt as full as ever, in fact, being in a perpetual state of Zoom-preparedness made it feel even more loaded. However, it was the hours that surrounded the workday that seemed eerily empty. Without the commute with the pubs, restaurants, cinemas, cultural and sporting events, all denied us time took on a strange consistency; simultaneously passing quickly and slowly. For those of us who are creati...ve for a living, the natural instinct was to reach for a pencil and paper when we didnt know what else to do. Wed invent things to distract our unhealthily overactive minds in a vain attempt to quieten the deafening silence of Lockdown. If nothing else, wed doodle incessantly. Often obsessively. Those doodles took on many forms, many media. Occasionally theyd evolve the means to free themselves from the primordial ooze of half-considered daydreams and transform into fully-fledged self-initiated projects. For prosperitys sake, weve collected some of these semi- and fully-formed creatures into a digital PDF zoo so we may bestow on them some semblance of legitimacy. This, is what Lockdown made us do:

Drawing on their no nonsense philosophy and heritage of home-brewing, the Bailey brand takes its cues f...rom the practicality of the backyard shed, replete with peg boards and tool walls. The eclectic collection of random machinery the guys inherited from the propertys previous owners, along with the natural elements found on the bush block, complete the tools that make Bailey Brewing unique. TAFEcyber is focused on building Australia’s cyber security workforce, equipping graduates with in-demand skills to suit the cyber security industry’s needs. TAFEcyber were looking for a brand to help them be seen and recognised as a group with a radical reimagining of the general approach to the ...cyber security industry. Our Creative Director @cynicalm spent a few days out with the tradies and apprentices of Marawar shooting them while they got on and did real work. Marawar (which means west in Nyoongar) is an Aboriginal-owned building and maintenance services business. Marawar is committed to redressing the shocking lack of Indigenous representation amongst apprentices in the building trades in Western Australia. 04.01.2022 ... Australia is suffering through the most devastating start to a wildfire season in our history. Native fauna populations, already under extreme stress from years of record-breaking drought, have been devastated. As we prepare to celebrate the Festive Season, there is no relief in sight. So, like thousands of other concerned Australians, we have decided to make a donation on behalf of our clients, suppliers and friends; those whove supported us in making 2019 such a successful year for Block. We will be giving to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital campaign. This campaign has raised nearly two million dollars for the Hospital and 50 other organisations, caring for and treating wildlife whose habitats have been decimated by the fires. Beginning in farmers markets then local independent grocerystores, they engaged Block to create a brand identity and packaging design that could take them to the next level. They were looking for brand that drew on their roots, while pushing them forwards, increasing their shelf-presence and allowing them to extend the reach and understanding of the #kombucha category as a whole. Block d...eveloped a #packaging system for their ranges of kombucha and sparkling water that could place the brand front and centre. Housed within a K shape, bespoke, hand-painted marbling artworks were created to communicate the depth, complexity and intensity of the flavour variants and visually represent the experience of each product.
