09.01.2022 It’s raining so all the house plants are having a drink. Unfortunately our huge fiddle leaf fig is just too heavy to mage it outside! Putting your house plants out in the rain washes off any dust that accumulates on their leaves that can suffocate the plant. The rain has nitrogen which is absorbed through the leaves and soil. It gives your indoor plants a boost they need to kickstart their Spring growing. #indoorplants #rain #nitrogen #bloomberrygardening

06.01.2022 Lichen on your tree, good or bad? This is not moss....Lichen is self sustaining so it does not take nutrients from your tree. If you have something that looks like this there is no need to worry. In fact lichen thrives when the air around the tree is healthy. Don't be tempted to remove it as doing so may damage the tree bark. It's time to start appreciating lichen on our trees. #bloomberrygardening #morningtonpeninsula #morningtonpeninsulabuilders #instagram #instagarden #instgardenlovers #nature #lichen

05.01.2022 One of the best things about lockdown The jobs we have been putting off around the house are getting done. Here is Morris helping out with some mulching. Thanks Thomas t_bm_27! #lockdowngardening #bloomberrygardening #instagarden #instagram #caronavirus #morningtonpeninsula
05.01.2022 Why do I keep my bay tree in a pot? Bay trees are a great tree to own. They are so so hardy, thrive on neglect and are handy for fresh bay leaves in your cooking. But did you know that these little trees can grow to a whopping 8 metres high and can shoot out invasive shoots in your garden. Keeping it in a pot effectively dwarfs it and keeps it manageable. My little bay has been with me for 15 years. I rarely feed it and really don’t give it the tlc it deserves but it keeps on gifting me beautiful fat leaves to use in my cooking and as you can see, cute little flowers when spring is nearly here. #bloomberrygardening #baytree #morningtonpeninsula #instagarden #instagram
