25.01.2022 Life without plants? Not possible, well no really it's not. Living with plants by Sophie Lee is a great book for all obsessive, overbearing, helicopter, plant parents like me. We have just 2 copies left....$29ea

25.01.2022 Ranuncs nothing more, nothing less Enjoy the first Sunday of Spring

25.01.2022 STOCK STANDARD Stock has come along way in the minds of flower lovers, a once thought of, low budget, filler type of flower has evolved into its own. The colours available are far from standard, especially this magenta one, if you are yet to sight the apricot, peach & lemon varieties then look out for them, they are so sweet. A word of warning though, there is nothing sweet about the pungent smell in the water when they are left in it for too long. Be sure to change it regularly.

25.01.2022 It's a new day and it's almost Spring! So much to look forward to, ENJOY x

17.01.2022 It's the weekend, do yourself a favour and buy some Waratah while they are still around.

16.01.2022 Creating spaces of beauty feeds your creativity. Having a space where we feel inspired & comfortable enables us to enter that state of flow, the place where our creativity is free to roam, uninhibited. A space for arranging flowers needn't be large 60cm - 1m of workbench is sufficient. The space needn't be permanent either.

14.01.2022 'An essential element to creativity is not being afraid to fail' - Dr Edwin Land

14.01.2022 Still on Hyacinth but moving onto pretty pale Pink. Did you know you can extend the vase life exponentially if you purchase 'or dig up' these lovelies with their bulb still attached. The bulb will continue to feed the flower. If you purchase Hyacinth without the bulb then its best not to cut the stem, this goes against good cut flower care for most other flower varieties but not these guys or gals, they prefer you leave them be in shallow water.

14.01.2022 Many Ancient tribes ran in cycles of 7s. The elders of tribes meet every 7 years to discuss their futures and essentially unpack and analyze all that they do. Maybe more importantly they then visualize, feel and plan out a sustainable future for their tribe including the environment in which they inhabit. Many of us are still doing this in some sense whether planned or universally orchestrated. Nearing the end of our 7th year at bloom Ive felt inspired to look at and analy...ze how we can continue to evolve as a business creating a sustainable future. This has been in the making for a year & the COVID restrictions have allowed more time & focus to facilitate such changes. With our lease at the Port Melbourne classroom arriving at its end it opened the opportunity to say goodbye to what has been a blessing in so many ways. The creative space has opened doors of opportunity to so many people, weve seen dreams made and businesses started. Weve watched minds and hearts open with the beauty and essence of flowers & the creativity unleashed within. This space has a lot of love, positivity & memories of magic moments in its walls and for many including me in our hearts. Weve had an amazing landlord I am so grateful for. Some may feel sadness that we no longer inhabit the space for you to come and open and explore your creativity but I hope you can feel the excitement I have for whats to come. Not all places, nor people for that matter, are necessarily a forever thing and by holding on to something you no longer need only prevents another from having it. By giving up what no longer serves you makes way for what does. This open space will move us forward into the next 7 year cycle and open new doors of opportunity. Once restrictions ease our classes will resume in Our Collingwood classroom and our future plans will continue to evolve and expand in good time. In the meantime we continue to offer you our classes LIVE online and our range of prerecorded online courses We are NOT another COVID casualty we are simply choosing the path of least resistance and moving with the times, cos the times they are a changing #staysafeeveryone See more

04.01.2022 Although Leucadendron is not native to Australia, they grow well here and make a fabulous addition to an Aussie Christmas. What flowers will you include this Christmas?
