24.01.2022 This is exactly how to run a tourism marketing campaign!!! Automated and will not only provide insight into consumer preferences for future marketing but increases their contact database. Well done Sightseeing Pass Australia
24.01.2022 If your tourism business is regionally located more than 2 hours from Perth and your clientele is over 25 years of age - you need to be allowing travel agents to sell your products. Some may say that without travel agents, all will be OK, that consumers will book international flights directly with the airlines and while this may be the case, especially if your tourism business specialises in the younger demographic of Gen Z and Millennials. However, if your tourism product ...and demographic suits the Gen X and Baby Boomers, this demographic is much more inclined to use a travel agent and also has a very strong influence over the younger demographics to do the same. Airlines rely on the sales of travel agents to secure pre-sold seats. They need these outbound seat sales in order to operate a viable airline. Without outbound ticket sales, airlines will have no choice other than to reduce flight schedules. Due to Perth's location, it is most likely that our city will be first off the block. SOLUTION - the tourism industry as a whole from suppliers right to the top, needs to start supporting and advocating for using travel agents.
24.01.2022 Finally!!! There is some recognition for travel agents and the importance of their role within the industry. Their tireless work over these past months to recover billions of dollars in refunds and cancellations has not gone unnoticed.
24.01.2022 Australian travel agents are being provided access to a free online training platform to help them sell domestic tourism experiences. The initiative is a local version of Tourism Australia's international Aussie Specialist Program and has been designed to equip agents with relevant, up-to-date information and showcase new regions, destinations and experiences within Australia. It offers training modules, itinerary suggestions, fact sheets, industry news and monthly email updates. Hopes this helps x https://www.aussiespecialist.com//a/registration-form.html

22.01.2022 Some good news today for all small businesses in WA!!
21.01.2022 Finally!!!! A tour operator that sees the value of travel agents and recommends booking through them!!! These are the companies that we should be supporting!!! Those that support the travel AND tourism industry’s - WELL DONE
21.01.2022 It seems the tourism industry can’t catch a break... from nothing to everything. While I know this isn’t true for all tourism businesses especially extended tour operators who are struggling to get numbers and with the WA Tourism Council saying there is only a 26% drop compared to last year... it’s 75% better off than their travel industry counterparts. It’s going to be interesting how Tourism WA deliberate and what percentage of the travel industry and tourism industry businesses will receive from the much needed cash injections from their recent grant submissions.
20.01.2022 While there are many industries and countless people doing it extremely tough right now, there is no sector that has been harder hit than the Travel and Tourism industries. Since March, these businesses have been wiped out with 100% loss of income. Tourism has had a fortunate and much needed boost with the recent school holidays and locals touring our state but travel agents are still working long hours with zero income being generated. I'm calling on the tourism sector to ge...t behind your industry counterparts and start advertising: "BOOK WITH YOUR LOCAL TRAVEL AGENT" This may seem old fashioned or outdated but it is THE BEST WAY TO SECURE THE FUTURE of BOTH the TOURISM and the TRAVEL INDUSTRIES. There are already reports of Travel Agents closures costing millions of dollars in lost refunds and held credits. Travel Insurance does not cover insolvency of a business. Feel free to use and share these graphics...
19.01.2022 Interesting how ideas can turn into reality without lifting a finger... well ok, perhaps a only few on a key on a keyboard 6 months ago I made this suggestion on my LinkedIn profile. I'm very grateful someone like minded and who could make a difference and run with this assistance package has been able to follow it through. $1 million will go a long way for tourism operators and visitor centres. ______________________________________________________________________ Voucher ...Program - 'A million reasons to Wander out Yonder' - Launched Today, Premier Mark McGowan, Tourism Minister Paul Papalia and Tourism Council WA CEO Evan Hall launched the 'A million reasons to Wander out Yonder' voucher initiative. 'A million reasons to Wander out Yonder' will provide ten thousand $100 vouchers to members of the public to use on tours and experiences across WA. Vouchers will be available to the first 10,000 people who register online from 10am on Monday, 21 September. Visitors will be able to redeem a $100 voucher by spending at least $100 on a tour or experience. This means people have the option of making a half-price saving on a $200 activity, or choosing to get a $100 discount off a higher-value or ‘bucket list’ experience. Participants will also be able to bundle several tours and experiences through the WA Visitor Centre and participating accredited visitor centres. The vouchers will be redeemable online, by phone, or in person at participating visitor centres. The tour or experience must be booked by October 31, 2020, and undertaken by the end of the year.

18.01.2022 WANTED: Tour operators and accommodation providers that are willing to provide WA travel agents with a minimum of 10% commission. PLEASE MESSAGE ME. I’m starting a connection group Blooming WA as a free link up for travel agents to connect with local tourism operators that are willing to work together to promote packages.
18.01.2022 Support for Australian companies has never been more important than now! Do not book your holiday's ONLINE with internationally owned companies. The entire globe is facing "unprecedented times", this is a war of sorts and Travel Agents are on the front line in the depths of the trenches, fighting a battle that you can not see. YOU HAVE THE CHOICE and ability to provide a bandage to the deep wounds that travel agents are suffering from... help them stop bleeding to death and choose Australian travel agents for your holiday bookings!
18.01.2022 WHO AND HOW TO TARGET WITH MARKETING? TRA has created these fantastic resources which will assist Travel Agents and regional areas with marketing to specific and targeted groups. My suggestions for targeted marketing are:... Younger 18-30 years - which means through social media (Instagram and Face Book)! As that is their platform of choice. Many students and the younger demographic work part time and casual positions and due to the Governments JobKeeper package, they are receiving $1500 fortnight when they would usually only receive a few hundred. If you need help with coming up with campaigns please let me know. Older over 50s - through Facebook and newspaper media to include reasonable editorial - not advert only. This group tend to be home owners, have savings, access to super and likely to travel in small groups with friends. Developing packages for 4-6 people is ideal. Target both to short stays areas close to the city (no more than 2-3 hours) and longer week stays to further areas that require plane trips. Road Trips are popular.
17.01.2022 ACCOMMODATION OWNERS: Tourism WA has partnered with Qantas Hotels on a Perth ‘Stay and Play’ campaign to increase staycation bookings across the city in the summer months. The campaign aims to entice West Australian Qantas Frequent Flyers to redeem their Qantas Points to enjoy a well-earned break in their home city. Qantas Hotels is also offering '20% off Points Plus Pay' on their site. The campaign kicks off from November 14, and will be promoted through Qantas Frequent Flyer audience channels. All Perth hotels currently partnering with Qantas Hotels will be automatically included in this campaign. If you are not listed with Qantas Hotels and want to find out how, please email [email protected]

16.01.2022 If anyone in the travel and tourism industries are interested in running an event.. here is some help. That said, wouldn't it be WONDERFUL if a networking trade show was put on where Tourism Operators AND Travel Agents and Wholesalers (inbound and outbound) could meet and connect?
16.01.2022 Here is the list of TWA Survival grant successful applicants.
15.01.2022 The tourism industry and the travel industry are 2 different industries that operate side by side to bring tourists into the country and travellers out. This cohesive relationship ensures airlines are viable. Without BOTH inbound and outbound ticket sales... airline operations ARE NOT VIABLE! Travel agents have access to large databases of extremely loyal consumer clientele that are WANTING products and are WANTING to book with their travel agent. #loveyourtravelagent

12.01.2022 If we don’t support all facets of the supply chain in travel then there will be no infrastructure for travellers to use for their own pleasure in the future. It is in everyone’s best interest to protect the very leisure they love.

11.01.2022 There is LOTS that could have been done to assist travel agents... it’s simply a lack of understanding of HOW the travel and tourism industries are interlinked, what will work and won’t is as easy as asking ANYONE who has an understanding of BOTH industries... if only a joint forum had been put together.
11.01.2022 The problem is no one realises that the travel industry and the tourism industry are 2 DIFFERENT INDUSTRIES.. as stated, the travel industry is responsible for 70% of international departures. If the tourism industry wishes to survive long term, they should be supporting the travel industry NOW! Airlines can not survive on inbound tourism alone.
10.01.2022 If the Tourism industry wishes to gain some understanding of what the Travel industry have been going through...
10.01.2022 Whoo wooo... lets hope those who are meant to quarantine do!!! Personally I’ve loved the freedom WA has had... although yes at a huge cost to many.. especially in travel and tourism.
09.01.2022 I’m not sure how accurate or up to date this is but I’m sure some may find it useful in planning future travels. The safety of Australian citizens remains priority.
08.01.2022 What politicians and those in the tourism industry do not understand is that without the travel industry both here in Australia and international - THERE WILL NOT BE A TOURISM INDUSTRY either! ACT NOW protect the TRAVEL INDUSTRY so THEY CAN PROTECT THE FUTURE of the Australian TOURISM INDUSTRY.

01.01.2022 With so many varying COVID-19 travel restrictions from country to country, it is challenging to get the full picture of what borders are open or closed and most importantly, what countries impose quarantine restrictions. To help with this, IATA created an interactive world map that provides this info, updated 200+ times per day, and it is accessible to all. Free. Powered by Timatic, the travel info tool that is widely used by economists, consultants, media outlets, business analysts and, of course, airlines,so you know it is dependable. Change alert notifications are also available. #airlines #travel #travelrestrictions #Travelagency #businesstravel #tourism
