25.01.2022 Today, my boy, I realised that I need to get used to this view: you running into your beautiful future whilst I cheer you on with both a proud and heavy heart. . Today, my boy, I watched you play with a lump in my throat. Tomorrow you start your full time schooling journey, a 13 year road of learning, homework, tests and assignments. . Today, my boy, I may have held back a tear (or three) as I realised the slow, carefree way in which you play may start to change from here. Ho...urs watching ants run through cracks, cloud spotting and rock collecting will be replaced with learning sums and sight words. No longer will rainy days consist of popping on your boots and coat to jump in the biggest puddle you can find, youll be dodging the water so you dont have to wear wet socks and shoes all day. No longer will I be your most reliable source of information, as you put your teacher and friends on a pedestal too (but Im still going to tell you that I can see your cheeks turn red when you lie, and hope that youll believe that for a little while longer ) As the thief that is time, takes part of you away from me, I realise that life is a constant oxymoron. That I both longed for and dreaded this day. That my instinct to protect you and hold you close must balance with the need to let you go and wander far. That I both admire and fear your independence. . And whilst Ill spend your first day wondering if I prepared you well enough (did I remind you to wash your hands before you eat? To always use your manners? To try your best?), if youve taught me anything, my boy, its that: youve got this. Youre always one step ahead of me and more capable than I could have ever hoped for. 22.01.2022 SHOP UPDATE | First, thank you so much for your patience at this time. If youre new here, Im currently 5 months pregnant and have been quite unwell, thus why Ive been closed. My plan was to open early March, however Im waiting on delayed timber and dont want to open orders until its in my hot little (currently puffy ) hands. 16.01.2022 Where do/did you put your newborn during the day? I remember coming home from the hospital with my first (six years ago) and not knowing where to put him down during the day if he wasnt in his bassinet. We settled for a mat on the floor but I look at something like the @dockatotausnz and wish I knew about it back then! Not only does it keep this little hunny snug as a bug, I can bring it to any room with me (remembering these are recommended for supervised naps/play only) a...nd it seems to create a barrier from well-meaning but overly affectionate big siblings Im also looking forward to taking it out with me on park and beach dates. You see, I had designed this Youre going to be be a Daddy sign a while ago, with the dream of one day being able to use it myself. 09.01.2022 Just one week left of school holidays for my cherubs (not me, Im back to work this week). Between the heat, the (very welcomed) rain and the lull of no-idea-what-day-it-is after Christmas, we survived with pretty basic play: jumping in puddles, Lego, scooter rides, colouring, puzzles, Lego, biscuit decorating, dress ups, attempted play dough (but I ran out of flour ), and oh, did I mention Lego? I also brought out my favourite classroom activities: stunned fish (kids la...y on the floor, still, if you move youre out ). On the days where we could, we headed out on nature walks with our board and pegged our finds. Thats as Instagrammy as our play got Thankfully they dont have IG or Pinterest to see how good play spaces can get, like this one pictured here by @adrienne.and.lachie. I can get away with being as basic as a plain white tee shirt for now . What are your go-to holiday activities?

07.01.2022 PLEASE READ FOR TEACHER BOOKMARKS These will be released a little differently this year. To avoid the inevitable stress that comes with trying to get these out by the end of school year, and keeping in mind current post delays, I’ve decided that these will be open to order for only a limited time PRIOR to my Christmas release. This will mean that teacher bookmarks can only be ordered on their own (can order more than one bookmark though!). I realise this is not ideal as if... you want both bookmarks and other pieces in my collection, it will be double postage cost, however this is the best way I can see this working for me this year, as my time is so limited. I found last year, even with being as clear as I could in the product listing, orders were still being placed after the guaranteed delivery cut off and customers were chasing up orders for delivery before the end of term, most of these included more detailed Christmas pieces. I know I don’t always read the turnaround times when I place online orders so I’ll be removing teacher bookmarks completely once the cut off has passed. In terms of dates, I’m planning on releasing these next Friday, 23 Oct and keeping open for 3 days (unless sold out prior), which will allow for me to make and send by mid-November.
