24.01.2022 I really must emphasise that here are Bloom, We welcome ALL bodies of all shapes and sizes! I apologise for inadvertently giving the message (via this sign in our waiting room) that I am only here for short people - we will be with the tall ones too (and every size in between) #allshapesandsizes #yogatherapy #psychology #portwillunga

22.01.2022 Let me introduce the rest of the Bloom team ... Meet Nicholas, Bloom’s practice manager. He is a wiz with organisational systems and numbers and I would be in an administrative mess without him. Nicholas is available to answer your questions, schedule appointments (and he makes an excellent coffee which I think is therapy in itself!) Then there is the regal Caterina . She has been trying to get into the office for weeks now ... Clients have had to resist her pleading litt...le face at the window from time to time, just begging to be let in to this cozy space. At first I was adamant that she needed to stay out because of the potential for clients to be allergic. But in considering the potential therapeutic impact of her mere presence, I am starting to soften. So, meet the newest front of house team member... Maybe she might be a Catalyst for change haha #meettheteam #psychology #yogatherapy #cattherapy See more

20.01.2022 Did you know that today is Gratitude day? What are you feeling grateful for? Please leave a comment and let me know. Spending time thinking about/noticing what we are grateful for has been scientifically demonstrated to lead to a whole range of benefits.... Gratitude has been consistently shown in the research to be associated with greater overall happiness. People who express gratitude are more likely to experience less physical health issues and enjoy more stable relationships. Establishing a gratitude practice can counter the mind's natural tendency to pay disproportionately more attention to 'negative' data. Therefore, cultivating a gratitude practice can help us to experience our circumstances in a more balanced (and positive) way. When we express and receive gratitude, this triggers our brain to release serotonin and dopamine, two of our "feel good" neurotransmitters. Try it for yourself. For the next week, set time aside for noticing (and feeling) what you are grateful for. Invite your mind to reflect back on the day and look out for 5 things that you are truly grateful for. Pay attention to the physiological sensations created in the body when you do this. If the object of your gratitude is another person, perhaps resolve to express your gratitude to them as soon as you can. It can help to write down what you are grateful for as it reinforces it just that little bit more. Notice the impact of doing this practice over a period of a week or more. I am grateful for so much.... But today I am grateful for the advent of gratitude day to bring awareness to the simple but powerful impact of practicing the art of gratitude #gratitude #GratitudeDay #wearewhatwethink #psychology #mindset

03.01.2022 Hello fellow South Australians ... Here are some tips to get through the next 6 days of lockdown: -Breathe. Right now people are likely to largely to be in the "acute" stage of crisis response. This is the first phase of crisis response where we typically look externally for ways to solve our problems. For example, we may continuously watch the news for constant updates and rush out and stock up on essential items (ahem, perhaps more than is really needed for a 6 day period ...Continue reading
