13.01.2022 These last few weeks should have been a time for family and celebration. Instead, many communities have been devastated by fires and the Australian community is... hurting. Blooms The Chemist is proud to be a community-minded pharmacy network, and it’s important that we support those who support us. We are pledging $50,000 to The Australian Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund, helping to provide support directly to those in need. We have acquired 9,000 much-needed P2 face masks. 4,000 masks will be available for the public to access free of charge (one per customer, available from 9 January while stocks last) in our pharmacies that are located near fire-affected areas; please find the list of participating stores in the first comment below this post. The other 5,000 masks will be donated to the appropriate authorities, ensuring these masks go to those who need them most in areas where we do not have a physical pharmacy. If you have been affected by the fires and need assistance with sourcing medication or pharmacy items, we’re here for you. We have established an emergency support line that you can call, and we will do our best to assist you. Please call: 0414 039 474. We’re thankful for the courageous firefighters who are working so hard battling these fires and we appreciate each of our customers who enable us to support Australian communities. We also wish to acknowledge our store teams in fire-affected communities for their dedication and commitment, be it through donating items, opening after hours to provide medication or medical equipment, or acting as a drop-off point for urgently needed supplies. Our thoughts are with all those affected by the fires. For those wishing to help the organisations on the ground providing frontline support, your contribution is needed and most welcome. How you can help: NSW RFS https://www.rfs.nsw.gov.au/volun/support-your-local-brigade Victoria Country Fire Association https://www.cfa.vic.gov.au/about/supporting-cfa#donate-cfa Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund https://www.redcross.org.au//disaster-relief-and-recovery- World Wildlife Fund Bushfire Emergency Appeal https://www.wwf.org.au/get-involved/bushfire-emergency WIRES- Wildlife Rescue Emergency Fund https://www.wires.org.au/donate/emergency-fund We understand the constant barrage of imagery and news coverage can be confronting and distressing.
