25.01.2022 Hi all, Please have a look at this list to see if you've been to one of the contract tracing locations of interest. As of 7.30pm tonight several West Lakes and Port Adelaide locations have been added, including the West Lakes Shopping Centre, and the Port Adelaide Plaza. If you have attended any of these spaces at the mentioned times, please follow SA Health advice to isolate or monitor symptoms, as appropriate. One of our staff was at West Lakes Shopping Centre on Sunday du...ring the timeframe listed. She is currently asymptomatic, and the SA Health advice for this site is that self-isolation is NOT required, but just to monitor symptoms. However, given the nature of the work we do, and the increasing number of western suburbs locations in the contract tracing list, I have decided that we will be cancelling all face to face sessions for the remainder of this week (at least), and all our staff will be working from home. If you have an appointment booked with us for tomorrow, Thursday or Friday, your OT will be contacting you either tonight or tomorrow to discuss with you your options for a phone or video consult, if possible and appropriate. We appreciate your patience with us during this time. We are taking this step as an extreme precaution, but we feel it is the socially responsible thing to do. We will be reviewing this situation on a daily basis and will be advising our clients for next week of what will be happening, early next week. Thanks again for your patience and cooperation. Sarah

24.01.2022 We’re on a break! Yesterday was our last day of work at the BW clinic and we’re now closed until Jan 6th. Yesterday we celebrated the end of a very long and challenging year with a staff lunch. We also started a new tradition we’re calling teachable moments we collated all of the quirky, silly or downright hilarious experiences we’ve had over the past year, and collected them in a jar. We spent lunch reading them out at random and telling the story behind it. My goodness t...here was so much laughter!! I can honestly say the thing I’m proudest of in building Bloom Wellbeing is this staff team I’ve curated. The atmosphere in our team is one of respect, encouragement, appreciation and joy. It’s so wonderful to see how everyone works together and supports each other. We now all have 2 1/2 weeks off to soak up so sun, relax and recharge, so that we cab all come back in 2020 refreshed and ready to take on 2021. Thanks to all our clients for being so awesome. We’ll see you next year!! #goodbye2020 #holidaytime See more

20.01.2022 Did you know that Bloom Wellbeing OT also supports parents, not just children? Since the first day we opened our business we have had mental health services for parents. This week in Australia is the 15th annual #pandaweek , an initiative developed by @PANDAnational to raise awareness about perinatal anxiety and depression, including signs to look for and where to go to seek support. We're offering ourselves up as 'so...meone who cares' - please contact us if you'd like more information on how to access our support services. 20.01.2022 Looking for a way to connect with a loved one who is far away this year? Valeska from Delivering Joy and I chat about why we created the 12 days of Christmas gift.

20.01.2022 I’m not the sort of person who regularly brags about the genius of their child, but my eldest turned 10 today and has been prepping for her Harry Potter birthday party all week. Here’s the sign she put up on the linen closet. I couldn’t be prouder. The pun game is strong with this one.

15.01.2022 Christmas in Australia!!!

14.01.2022 To anyone who had a baby this year, I take my hat off to you! Having a newborn is hard work at the best of times, but doing it in the middle of a viral pandemic, while separated from loved ones, having limited formal and informal support services available, and just generally not being able to leave the house whenever you want. Phew. That’s tough. You’re amazing. Here’s to a (hopefully) easier 2021.

14.01.2022 Last day of lockdown.

13.01.2022 My very clever uncle makes these amazing solid timber height charts, and our new tradition is to take a height measurement each birthday. If you’re looking for a unique baby shower or birthday gift, check him out at https://www.facebook.com/Bonza-Creations-103624508087500/ . He also does a stack of other personalised timber plaques - especially for police/emergency services/armed forces (he’s ex-police and ex-Navy). Based in #Warrnambool but can deliver across Australia. Love ya Mick!! #smallbusiness #smallbusinessaustralia

10.01.2022 On the third day of Christmas Covid gave to me.... It really has been a year like no other we have ever known and for a lot of people it has felt scary, hard, sad, frustrating... all sorts. @deliveringjoy.foryou and I really wanted to do something different. To acknowledge the strange and upturned year we have had while also bringing a bit of joy and humour - so we made the 12 Days fo Covid Christmas.... We made it as a digital gift to help connect those who may be separated at Christmas, but then we decided we wanted to share it with you all too. We even turned it into a song, which is pretty cool - you can check that out on Youtube and share it with your family and friends https://youtu.be/QEXe8QSJhIE

09.01.2022 Are you an allied health student looking for casual work? Shifts available during school holidays, and various weekday afternoons during term times. We invite applications from male and female AHAs. Please email or DM Sarah for more info.... Please share with anyone you think might be interested in the position.

08.01.2022 So we've been brainstorming this morning to come up with a name for our puberty program for boys with autism, because we just can't say "Well Boys!" with a straight face! So we need a new name - and we can't think of anything - does anyone have a suggestion???

07.01.2022 While perinatal depression is often highlighted as a major issue for new mothers, the incidence of perinatal anxiety is also on the increase, with many women unaware that their nagging feelings of fear and worry during their parenting years might actually be a sign of a mental health issues. Here's a blog post Sarah wrote a while back, on how to tell the difference between generic worry, and problematic anxiety.

06.01.2022 Proof that there are still amazing and generous people in this world!!

06.01.2022 You’ve Been Framed! What an awesome game I picked up from @bigwaustralia today. Already used it with two of my kiddos. Massive from both of them. Heaps of different challenge levels. Multiplayer. Upgrade or downgrade by adding time limits and competitive elements. Awesome!

05.01.2022 In the three years we've been running our Well Girls puberty program, the most frequent question I've been asked is if we run a similar program for boys!! Well you asked for it, so it's now in the planning stages! This program will focus on a range of topics relevant to boys who are nearing, or are in the early puberty years - such as: body changes, understanding of the reproductive system, hygiene and self care, understanding changing emotions and 'big feelings', navigating ...friendships, and more. The yet-to-be-named program will be offered for the first time in term 4 this year, from our Port Adelaide clinic. If you have a boy with autism, aged 8 to 12, who you think would benefit from this program, please send us an email to [email protected] and we will add you to our mailing list. Please let me know if you have any other questions. Oh and if you want more information about our Well Girls program, you can find it here: www.facebook.com/wellgirls

05.01.2022 When you have awesome friends/biz colleagues who not only understand when you cancel an appt for the second week in a row due to being sick, but actually bring you fresh juice (and cookies for the kids) to help you feel better!! Thanks Carly from @sawomanaustralia - you’re a gem!

05.01.2022 On the first day of Christmas... As a gift to you, our beautiful community, we (@deliveringjoy.foryou & I) would like to share the start of the 12 Days of Covid Christmas we created with you! . .... * on a side note, this means there is only 12 Days left until Christmas! See more

05.01.2022 It does make me laugh how my two children approach their Xmas lists. Eldest is all politeness with a cohesive, focused list; youngest is straight into the demands, with the the most randomly specific list I’ve seen (3 Star Wars posters, 2 toy cats but 4 hair extensions)??? What’s on your kiddos’ lists this year?

04.01.2022 Panda and Archie are hard at work at the clinic today, teaching our kiddos all about social distancing and demonstrating effective mask wearing! #occupationaltherapy #covid19 #socialdistancing

03.01.2022 Rush Hour is one of my absolute fave board games - I use it with my kiddos for everything from logical thinking, planning, problem solving, to visual motor discrimination and coordination, right through to resilience and self regulation. Covers all bases! #thinkfun #rushhour @thinkfun

03.01.2022 On the second day of Christmas... . . As a gift to you, our beautiful community, we (@deliveringjoy.foryou & I) would like to share the start of the 12 Days of Covid Christmas we created with you!... This was so much fun to put together!

03.01.2022 We still have a few places left for girls to join our Well Girls #NextLevel program - starting next week!

03.01.2022 Hi all - so it looks like restrictions have changed again! If you're a client and you have an appointment with us next week, either in clinic, or at school, we will be contacting you on Monday to confirm your appointment. If you have an appointment on Tuesday, you may have received an sms re your appt this morning - that was our automatic sms appointment reminder. Please disregard that for the moment. We will confirm on Monday - just in case things change again! For school b...ased appointments, we also need to confirm with the schools to check that they are happy for us to come in. Thanks again for your patience. ps. Any sessions cancelled for next week due to Covid issues will not attract cancellation fees.
