23.01.2022 SLEEP What your baby wants you to know about sleep and settling. I wish I’d listened to this common sense and caring perspective before having my first. Interview with Dr Howard Chilton (neonatal and toddler Paediatrition and author) and Georgina Dowden (Lactation Consultant).
23.01.2022 If you have a good birth tale please don’t be afraid to share it. Yes, some people will dismiss it as a fluke, an exaggeration, or say it’s impossible to enJOY your birth, but this matters less that the potential Mumma to be that may not have hear one positive birth story during her whole pregnancy. The Mum or Dad that needs to hear them. Empowered birth stories are out there, we are just not encouraged to share them. I’ll be sharing my latest birth story soon!

12.01.2022 A shout out to all the Dad’s and the amazing role they play in supporting the birth and breast feeding journey. There are so many ways to bond with your beautiful baby, it’s so lovely to see this Mum being nourished and loved here.
12.01.2022 Let’s go ahead and say something out in the open. You’ve been conditioned to disconnect from what’s happening from your belly button down. ... From normal gynecological exams to birth, parts are hidden from you. Placing drapes, covers and blankets over your bottom half, creates a disconnect from your body. From what’s happening. Removing your own body from your sight. This disconnect makes it easier for others to take charge, to control situations, to make decisions that do not include you. Claiming your power, your autonomy, your body and birth means connecting to all parts of your body. Nothing should be hidden from you. PhotoCred: Caromama - Geboortefotograaf en Doula

11.01.2022 Skin on skin and it’s importance for Dads!
08.01.2022 Who has seen the Bluey episode Baby Race? It honestly has me in tears! Such a beautiful celebration of the sisterhood and village mothers create. It also touches on the fears parents often have of their child doesn’t learn a skill at a specific time/order, and reminds us that are children are unique and often will develop each skill when they are ready. The full episode is the best and on the ABC app. ... Mum’s to be...please watch. New Mum’s ....please watch. Seasoned Mum’s.....you will love it too! Have you seen it? What did you think? When have you experienced support from a fellow Mum? https://www.facebook.com/290190314438/posts/10159032678769439/?d=n
05.01.2022 I found this reminder that is SO relevant to myself at 40weeks with our 4th baby. I though I should share this wisdom! PATIENCE IS A (PREGNANCY) VIRTUE Are you a person that waits well?... I get asked this question a lot: What can I do to induce labor naturally? Sometimes there’s a medical reason for induction but often times it’s just a lack of patience. a normal pregnancy length is anywhere between 37-42 weeks. That’s a MONTH of range of normal. more than 99% of the time, labor will begin on its own before 42 weeks. the average first time mama births around 41 weeks, 3 days in a low-risk pregnancy, waiting until labor begins on its own is considered best for both mama and baby Yes, waiting can be hard. Yes, sometimes induction seems appealing. Yes, it would be great to have a natural way to induce labor. BUT the reality is...there is no natural way to induce labor. Induction is not natural. Babies know when to be born. Patience is is what allows them to tell us #inductionoflabor #patienceisavirtue #thirdtrimester #overdue #birth #lamaze #lamazeclass #childbirtheducator #prenataleducation #midwiferycare #40weekspregnant #40weeks #41weekspregnant #41weeks #42weekspregnant #42weeks . - Reposted from @your.birth.ed & @warriorwithinbirthservices See more
