25.01.2022 You see a child play, and it is so close to seeing an artist paint, for in play a child says without uttering a word Erik Erikson EYLF 4.1: Children develop dispositions for learning such as Curiosity, cooperation, confidence, creativity, Commitment enthusiasm, Persistence, imagination and reflexivity.

13.01.2022 Everyone got into the Irish spirit as we continued to celebrate St Patrick's day and learnt a bit more about our Irish friends. See the following post for what we did today

13.01.2022 Children learn by doing, by playing, and play is children’s work ~ Maria Montessori EYLF 4.2- Children develop a range of skills and processes such as problem solving, inquiry, experimentation, hypothesising, researching and investigating

12.01.2022 With its rich capacity to teach children to problem solve, connect, understand and be inquisitive in their play, constructive play uses open-ended materials and allows children to think about the functions of the materials that they are using

12.01.2022 What better way to spend a beautiful Monday afternoon than by dancing! Some of our preschoolers have been learning new moves from their peers and this afternoon was their time to shine! Dance improves flexibility, coordination, balance, range of motion, stamina, muscle tone, strength and posture. But physical fitness is just one of many benefits of dance that can enhance your child's life in so many ways. ... Children strengthen their cognitive abilities and memory skil...ls through learning choreography. What dance should we learn next?

12.01.2022 Happy times are never ending when we’re playing and pretending

11.01.2022 I-Spy with my little eye...... AN AMAZING TEAM EFFORT OF THE CHILDREN CREATING THEIR OWN HOUSE OUTDOORS..... which then turned into a car .... then turned into a boat! OPTIONS ARE ENDLESS WITH THESE AMAZING BUILDERS

11.01.2022 LOOK WHO IS BACK! The children are so happy and excited to see Miss Susie return to their classroom for a morning full of fun and learning all through dancing, singing and special stories

11.01.2022 At Blossom we take learning a step further by directly involving our children in designing their learning activities and offering them the opportunity to make choices. Getting our children involved in planning and co-constructing their learning through brainstorming on a specific topic, positively affects their confidence and motivation towards that specific learning experience. Our inquisitive children lead.. our interested and responsive educators support and foster that growth, providing an interest-based child-centred curriculum. EYLF 1.2.3: Each child’s agency is promoted, enabling them to make choices and decisions that influence events and their world. #spotaleader #childrenincharge #reflectivepractice #involvedlearners

11.01.2022 Bob the Builder can we fix it! Playing with a variety of building and creative products helps children build self-confidence and encourages their independent learning too. By allowing children freedom in construction play it also makes them think independently and make decisions based on what they are learning What shall we build next?

09.01.2022 Recycling Week "Here you go this is your money and your milk" "What flavour would you like, let me order it for you" "Line up, here, egg!" ... "Me, one, two, three four five! Give you the money" Using recylable materials donated by our beautiful families, the children role played in their very own shop! Such a heartwarming sound to hear counting, negotiation, cooperation and lots of giggles . Who knew learning about sustainability could be this fun and educational

09.01.2022 Why play Peekaboo well, it stimulates baby's senses! Can also build their gross motor skills, strengthen their visual tracking, encourages their social development and best of all, tickles their sense of humor! Plus, peekaboo teaches object permanence: the idea that even though they can't see something (like your smiling face), it still exists Some of our preschoolers could see their little friend was a little upset and wanted to make him happy and laugh again EYLF: 1.4~ Children learn to interact in relation to others with care, empathy and respect

08.01.2022 Planting the seed for the future amazing educators to rise Blossom doesn’t just work towards achieving the best learning outcomes for our children we work towards building and inspiring the futures amazing educators too.

08.01.2022 Look at the discovery the preschoolers make as they step into another week of all things creepy crawlers Loose Parts offers many opportunities for children to use natural materials and objects in their environment. This allows them to make meaning of the natural world around them and manipulate materials however way they would like. Loose parts provide many experiences for children to be creative, curious and imaginative EYLF 4.4 - Children resource their own learning through connecting with people, place, technologies and natural and processed materials.

06.01.2022 Luck of the Irish Today the Rainbow room children were building an understanding and appreciation of different cultures as this is an important part of the curriculum here at Blossom. The day was full of green things everywhere! We had clovers almost on all the tables as we played games that helped our fine motor and problem solving skills alongside our numeracy and colour recognition ... What culture shall we look into next?!

03.01.2022 There’s a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow Our little Blossom leprechauns were super busy this morning searching high and low as cheeky Lenny the leprechaun visited over night and hid some gold for us all to find! We were all so lucky as we each found a gold coin They were all so excited to take it home and share the big plans of how they would use it The excitement in their eyes is priceless, don't you agree?

03.01.2022 This week our preschool friends had a special visit from Ms T, who is one of our friends mummy! She spent the morning reading the book All About Bugs to us and teaching us some new words in Greek! Miss T Regardless of which languages your child is learning, reading to them is fundamental. It helps build the foundation for language and literacy development early. Reading books together can also be a fun way to help your child expand their vocabulary and to introduce the traditions and customs of different cultures. EYLF 2.2~ Children respond to diversity with respect

03.01.2022 TRICK OR TREAT! T’was the night before Halloween, where all the children dressed to impressed with their awesome costumes, little dance party, and rocked some face paint! Happy Halloween

02.01.2022 NATURAL SCAVENGER HUNT Today the Rainbow children took the opportunity when the rain stopped to get out into their garden area and search for all things we could use for our spring themed crafts! Not only can scavenger hunts be done just about anywhere, they also boost observation skills, team work skills, hand - eye coordination , and help children develop early learning skills in a fun, relaxed, and natural way. Some benefits of using our beautiful natural resources ...is natural materials have a sensory benefit, they have different textures, sizes, colours and smells. They provide more tactile stimulation to children to help them improve their hand/finger awareness and coordination. What should we hunt for next?

01.01.2022 Our commitment to keeping children healthy is paramount, and learning to wash our hands carefully and thoroughly can help the spread of germs that cause illness. Today children were encouraged to thoroughly wash their hands until that little vicious virus on the back of their hands was completely gone. Well done hand washing superstars! You washed that virus away while practising washing the back of your hands and between your fingers.
