13.01.2022 UPDATES FROM CRICKET NSW ON NSW HEALTH ADVICE FOR COVID-19 Dear Cricket Community, Following the advice issued earlier this week, NSW Health has provided additional clarification to community sports organisations. Cricket competitions should be run within existing local competition or association boundaries. Competitions may run across local government areas within these boundaries, but if there are enough teams or players within one LGA, where practical, a... more local competition should be considered. If participants are members of a club not located within their local area, they should discuss with their club whether it is necessary to participate in club activities at this time. It is acknowledged that associations and districts across Greater Sydney and regional NSW may need to maintain their existing arrangements with neighbouring associations or districts to ensure there are enough teams to participate in a competition. Participants should not be travelling into Greater Sydney from regional NSW to participate in activities, and vice versa, nor travelling across regions in regional NSW. In regional NSW (i.e. outside of Greater Sydney), existing competition structures or scheduling should aim to minimise the need for overnight travel. These recommendations apply equally to junior and open-age competitions and currently cover a period of 6 weeks and are subject to change. Cricket NSW will continue to provide updates to the cricket community as they come to hand. As always, if you would like further guidance on how this information applies to your club or association, please reach out to your local CNSW representative. The key points from the earlier advice are listed below. Recent communication issued by the Chief Health Officer of NSW Health has led CNSW to make changes to its operations and to the advice being provided to the cricket community. The changes have been designed to assist the goal of eliminating community transmission of COVID-19 within NSW. Sporting organisations have been asked, for a 6 week period from today, to cease competitions that involve bringing together participants or officials from different regions. Cricket NSW will cease all aspects relating to training and playing of any nonprofessional programs it administers, until further notice, while it assesses all aspects of delivering these programs. Local Associations and Leagues are encouraged to continue planning for the start of their season, albeit with a strong recommendation from Cricket NSW that fixtures commence no earlier than October and be structured in a one day format. Regards, Greg Mail Ivan Spyrdz Head of Cricket General Manager Community Cricket

05.01.2022 HKHDCCA Coach of the Year Award 2020-21. The Coaches' Association is calling for nominations for the prestigious Coach of the Year Award (Bruce Wood Cup) for 2...020-21, which recognises excellence in cricket coaching at club, representative and/or HKHDCCA level within the Association. Nominations must be submitted online by 6 April 2021 via this link: bit.ly/Coach-2020-21 The past winners of this award can be seen at this link: bit.ly/HKHDCCA-CoY-winners This award is designed to showcase outstanding coaches who have demonstrated great commitment, innovation and skills development in their roles, including introducing strategies to increase junior participation and inclusiveness. Although successful premiership coaches will certainly be considered for this award, if nominated, it is not about silverware or how many junior premierships a coach has won. Please take a few minutes to nominate a special coach in your cricket club to give him / her some much deserved recognition.
