06.01.2022 Blow Up Cinema is hiring its summer crew... Blow Up Cinema is Melbourne's premier outdoor cinema company and we are looking for crew for the busy summer ahead. Some of our work involves residencies in venues across Melbourne (ie. 10-50 screenings in the same venue during summer) and others involve work for councils, schools and sports clubs - where we bump in and out on the same day. We also run an outdoor cinema event on the Mornington Peninsula called Stringybark Cinema, wh...ere we put on 7 events on an old racetrack with food-trucks, music, bar etc.. So, we are looking for people with audio and/or projection experience. Key skills sets include setting up sound systems, working in digital cinemas, music or film festival experience, audio hire company exp etc.. It's important that applicants are comfortable in these areas, so you can work around any issues if they arise as you will mainly be working on your own. The work is physical, you will be loading and unloading speakers (only 2 weighing 15-20kgs each) and large inflatable screens (25kgs) and you will have high attention to detail (our films look amazing - brightly projected via VLC on MacBook Pros with no OSD). Then you can relax, watch the film play smoothly, ensure the client is happy, then drop the equipment back to our warehouse in Brunswick. Ideally, you will have a driver's licence and a car with a tow bar is a bonus as one of our systems sits in a custom trailer. Saying that, our screenings in fixed locations do not require you to drive. We have over 100 events already booked this summer and it is good, fun work.
