25.01.2022 Congratulations to our Strive for 5 award recipients for Weeks 5 and 6. Thanks to 2M, 4S and 5D who shared their work at assembly.

24.01.2022 1B finally got to meet their buddy class! The students had a wonderful time reading books to their buddies in the shade of trees in the adventure playground. 1B read their books to their Year 5 buddy and then the Year 5 buddy read the book back to the Year 1 student. It was a great opportunity for students to hear modelled reading from another child rather than from a teacher. Year 5 were very impressed with 1B’s reading with some students stating that their Year 1 buddy read better than they did. This was not the case, Year 5 read beautifully to Year 1. Thanks 5P! 1B really enjoyed reading with you and we hope we can do it again soon.

22.01.2022 Today we welcomed our new Animal Therapy dog to the school. 5D loved their visit today and we are sure Molly enjoyed all the attention too! Welcome Molly!

20.01.2022 This week we recognised our School Administrative and Support (SAS) Staff. Thank you to our admin staff, our General Assistant and our Teachers Aides for their commitment and contributions to our BLSPS community. They are professional, hard working and super helpful through all the changes weve navigated this year. Our admin staff are the face of our school, completing administrative and financial tasks. They are usually the ones who care for your children when they hurt or... injure themselves. Our General Assistant ensures the safety and maintenance of our site, ensuring it always looks as beautiful as it does, while our School Learning Support Officers (teachers aides) support our teachers and students during lessons in the classroom. They were essential to our school as we worked remotely this year and helped to support all our families. A special congratulations to Mrs Carol Hodges for the recognition of 20 years service with the Department of Education. A huge THANK YOU to our SAS team and we hope they enjoyed SAS week!

04.01.2022 2G - Sunflowers This term 2G have been learning about Plants and growing plants as part of our ‘Watch it Grow’ Science unit. To think with this, we not only planted sunflowers to observe over the term, but created Sunflower art by using oil pastels and pencils! To further develop our knowledge and skills, we then linked science and art to our imaginative writing unit! We worked individually to think of interesting adjectives to describe the nouns in a sunflower field photo. Then in pairs and small groups we used these phrases to create descriptive sentences.
