23.01.2022 Getting your customers confidence. I guess it comes with 13 years full time saddle making of western and fender saddles, also repairs along the way. A custom sa...ddle is a big purchase but if looked after will last for years from trail riders to feed lots and every thing in between. In these pictures the first four saddles were made over 10 years ago and they would still be going fine. The last four should show you how my style and ability to look after a customer has changed. 14.01.2022 FYI. How I measure the seat on a fender saddle. It is a tree measurement before the saddle is made and on my saddles you will lose about 1/2" in the seat so 13 1/2" tree seat will be 13" inside seat when made. As a guide the stitch line on the Cheyenne roll can be used (stitch actually goes down behind the cantle) and a line across the back of the pads is the other. Stock saddles were measured to the fore part at the front you don't sit out there and the thickness of the fron...t of the saddle can very up to an 1" that I have seen. Not to complicate it but change the pad angle and you will change the seat size, both the trees pictured are the same seat size but you will put a larger person into the same size seat because the pad angle is forward at the bottom . Both fender saddles are the same seat size 13 1/2" tree but the brown saddle some measure it as a 15" once again you are in trouble if you are out there. Westerns measure the same so fender saddles don't follow stock saddles. See more
14.01.2022 This went out the door today made for a former boss who is now semi retired so plenty of time to ride in a new saddle on his horse called Chainsaw who like water lilies. $4600.00 inc gst.
14.01.2022 This is called a feel good cantle 4 high not common on a fender saddle but gives the rider security, confidence and comfort to ride all day.
12.01.2022 This one was picked up last week but rain and work prevented a test ride but from what I hear it went well in a two day clinic on the week end. 14 1/2 seat and a wide gullet at 7 1/2". Pleasure to make Shirilee enjoy.

03.01.2022 FYI. The brown saddle is what I call my Ranch saddle and I have made lots of these for customers doing Ranch classes or just going out on a Trail ride. The natural coloured saddle is the Trails End Barrel saddle which has a different shaped swell, shorter seat and the cantle is 5" on this saddle. I could not guess how many of them are around the county. I have made a lot of these for customers with a western pleasure horn and they just go out trail riding, the high swell and ...the high cantle gives them security. Both saddles in natural leather start at $4090.00 inc gst ready to ride. The fender saddle pictured I have made a lot of these and they are used for barrel racing, mustering, camp drafting, team penning, feed lots or just out on the trail.
