24.01.2022 Mourning the passing Dr Catherine Hamlin AC 1924 - 2020 Many of you who have travelled with Blue Dot Travel to Ethiopia, will have visited her hospital in Addis. Catherine lived an incredible life having made an enormous difference to the lives and health of thousands upon thousands of women in Ethiopia.

24.01.2022 Remember that movie "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" with Steve Martin and John Candy? Travelling to the destination can often be quite an experience. Sometimes it's even the best part. Over the years our local guides have provided us with many unique forms of transport. There have been ex-military helicopters in Kamchatka, sea kayaks in Guatemala, vintage cars in Cuba and zebu cart crossings in Madagascar.... Here are some more photos from our travels. 23.01.2022 Now in Satpura which hosts a wide variety of biodiversity and provides a corridor between other stretches of forests for species like the Royal Bengal Tiger, leopard, sloth bear, among others. It is also a haven for bird life.

21.01.2022 Now at the Singinawa end of Kanha National Park and had another two encounters with tigers today, making 4 in total so far. Todays encounter was very special as we spent several minutes with this 11 year old female tiger. She was just strolling down the road directly in front of our Jeep.

16.01.2022 Our wonderful hosts Tertia & Ken at Burrabaroon Homestead treated us to a wonderful welcome dinner. Today in Hay at the Shear Outback Centre - Australian Shearers Hall of Fame then off to Dunera Museum where our guide David Houston shared his own personal experience of the arrival of the POW internees in Hay when he was 5 years old.

14.01.2022 Outback Tour Update: Full day yesterday. The fish farm was of great interest and the afternoon at Piccolo Farm in Griffith was a highlight. Bill our tour leader, bought some cod from the fish farm and cooked dinner for the group along with some canoli from Bertoldos to finish it off for dessert. Big success.

13.01.2022 Outback Tour Update: At Corynnia Station having enjoyed a wonderful dinner with Julie & Ian.

12.01.2022 Day 2 Tigers tour of India: Started the day in Delhi with a rickshaw ride through Old Delhi through Chandni Chowk. Followed by a fascinating visit to Bungla Sikh temple where we visited the communal kitchen, where hundreds of people are fed every day. Last stop of the day was Humayun Mausoleum tomb of the 2nd moghal emperors from 16th Century with lots of fun in between.

10.01.2022 Our first safari in Kanha National Park which was one of the first areas in India to fall under the Project Tiger conservation program to save the Royal Bengal Tiger.

It's not something any of us have experienced before, and we hope you are finding ways of adjusting to this "new normal". Over the last month, we have been buoyed by the positivity and support of our Blue Dot family. Thank you for your warm messages. Keeping dreams of travel alive, with the world as it is right now, is a challenge. 05.01.2022 Tour update from Kanha National Park, Central India. Yesterday we took our resident elephant Tara for a walk down to the river for a bath. In the evening we were treated to a wonderful surprise of tribal dancing by the local Baiga tribe. This morning we headed out early for our jeep safari #2 with our naturalist in search of tigers and we were not disappointed.

01.01.2022 Outback Update: Our group is travelling from Bindara Station to Lake Pakia. Big bush breakfast before they left. Some flooding rain along the way so had to make s detour. Delicious meal waiting at Lake Paika plus beautiful scenery along the way.

01.01.2022 During this time of social isolation, we have been reminiscing about the friendships formed and many wonderful memories we have shared over the years. The Blue Dot family has been a special part of all of our lives. For the time being, travel will not be on the agenda, so we thought it an opportune time to share with you a few of our favourite group photos.
