24.01.2022 It's the first Saturday of the month - so the ceramics studio stall will be showcasing lots of interesting pieces from our very talented potters. Only one more to go until the end of the year, so start buying your Christmas gifts now from them, or choose from Neil's exquisite woodwork. All the usuals will be there as well with plenty of produce and yumminess. If you haven't caught the latest exhibition in the gallery come and see it now. The final one for the year will be starting soon. The café as always have great coffee and home made food. Try one of Paul's pies or take one with you for lunch. Come and spend and hour or two chatting with the locals in this amazing community setting. See you there 8.30am-12pm.
21.01.2022 If your week has been as crazy as mine, come to tomorrow’s market and relax with friends, chat to the stall holders and slooooow down for awhile. Again we are expecting all of the stall holders to join us and an abundant backyarders table with fresh eggs, mushrooms coffee and baked goods. Chris will have the last of his apples but is bringing new season peaches and nectarines.... Sharon and Graham will have there garden produce, duck eggs and delicious strawberry jam. Greg will have seedlings. Peter is baking up another storm. He has been selling out of bread early so it is raise and shine early to get yours. Tomo will have her weekly goodies and beautiful ceramic plates, bowls and cups. Louise will be there with herbs and crafted teas. Hopefully Kailanna will still have some of those big beautiful sunflowers. Hope to see you in the morning.
19.01.2022 We are having another Trash & Treasure on Saturday November 21st, along side the usual market stalls. So sort out those cupboards, the garage and the shed. Clean it up, make sure it's in good order and bring it along to sell. Contact Louise at the number on the flyer to book your stall.
15.01.2022 Hi All, we had a meeting last weekend and Louise is now on the committee. She is putting a call out to the local Blue Knob Community. We would love to know what things you would like to see at our local community market. Suggestions so far have been: More Music, A trade your goods, table, more varied stalls, an organic food co-op, more talks. We would love to hear from you . What would you like to see happening at our community market? Please let us know
13.01.2022 A little late with our weekly update for the market tomorrow. Everyone is busy preparing for their stalls. Have you seen the beautiful work of Neil Pims, he has mastered the technique of pyrographic (had to google that) creating images on wood. Simply stunning. Louise will have her crafted teas this week and Kim with her bath salts and oils.... Anamaya has been baking again and this week will have her florentine’s on the backyarders table along with some beautiful native flowers from her garden. The regulars will be present with fresh produce, bread, biscuits, veggie seedlings, rainforest plants, skin moisture, freshly picked apples, hand made soap and much more. See you all in the morning.
12.01.2022 Our lovely Wires wild life carer, Jo Cabalé will be giving another of her amazing talks next Saturday on reptiles of all persuasions. Bring a photo if you want an id of something you've seen. Jo is very passionate about what she does and her talks are always very popular. Entry is by gold coin. See the flyer for details.
09.01.2022 Stallholders had fun last week beautifying and doing some long awaited projects around the market space. You will be pleased to see that it is now safe to stand by the noticeboard, as it's now upright; fewer cobwebs adorn the walls; the first stage of the soon to be paved area near the gallery door is complete and, not on show, but we now have one very organised shed at the back! This week Chris will have new season stone fruit. The peaches and nectarines were small but deli...cious last week. Andy has honey, berries and rainforest plants. Greg has lots of seasonal veggie seedlings. See Peter for bread and other baked goodies. He's also had a gluten free seed bread as well lately, which has proved popular, as well as preserves and chutneys. All the usual locally grown produce on the Backyarders - locally grown coffee - both beans and ground, eggs, colourful oyster mushrooms, tasty treats, veg, plants, honey and other goodies. Kaelana has been bringing those joyful, sunny sunflowers for sale and no doubt we will hear those delightfully gentle sounds from her drum. Neil will have his beautiful woodcrafts but we will miss Tomo this week. Come and have a look. See you there 8.30am-12pm See more
09.01.2022 Gorgeous weather to accompany yet another wonderful community market coming up on Saturday. What a great community it is to, incorporating five organisations on the one property, that are all run by volunteers. Together they make for a warm and welcoming vibe and a fun place to hang out. So come and check out the market offerings of fresh veg, seedlings, baked goods and preserves; the new exhibition in the gallery, with the solo space occupied by the artistic textiles of the market's previous co-ordinator Eric Smith; the studio will be buzzing with the activity of the potters; the café with Paul's famous pies and great coffee and you never know the firies may be around getting themselves on top of their game for this Summer season. Look forward to seeing you then.
08.01.2022 The Trash & Treasure stalls are going to create some extra fun this week, alongside the usual produce and craft, so come and browse and see what you can find. Stay for a cuppa and a bite to eat in the café and visit the final days of the current exhibition in the gallery. See you there 8.30am-12pm.
07.01.2022 This weekend is a long one, it is the last day before daylight saving starts and it is the first market of the month. Every reason to come and join us at Blue Knob farmers market this Saturday morning from 8.30 to noon. The ceramic stall will return after a break last month. Time to start thinking about Christmas presents for your special people. Have also heard a rumour there will be music, a real treat.... We are expecting a full house of stall holders with the return of Sharon with her fresh veggies and duck eggs. Louise with her crafted teas. Peter with bread and biscuits. Greg with seedlings and soil conditioner, Andy with rainforest plants, berries and honey, Chris with apples and Neil with his beautiful timber work. And if you can’t find anything on these stalls there is always a great selection of produce, baked treats, coffee and more on the backyarders table. See you there.
07.01.2022 With this gorgeous weather, it's time for the new season's veggie plantings and Greg and Ness have seedlings in abundance - eggplants and capsicums to name a couple. Stunning Protea flowers from Cathryn, that you'll find on the Platypus Point stall along with Peter's bread and Anzac biscuits. Those delicious multi-coloured oyster mushrooms are now available in a $30 box which contains the same amount as 6 of the standard size. All sorts of locally grown fruit and veg, Mounta...in Top coffee beans or ground, eggs, honey, baked goods and many surprises to be found. Come and join us from 8.30am until noon. See you there. 05.01.2022 Looks like a hotter day coming up tomorrow, so come and spend some time in our shady undercover market, cafe and gallery. This week we have Louise with all her herbs in their various incarnations of plants, teas and lotions and potions. Tomo is away but Peter is probably baking all that amazing bread as we speak. Try out the increasing popular gluten free seed bread. If you have a question about regen, ask Andy. He can visit your place and advise you. He also has the plants t...o fill that gap. Seedlings galore at Greg's stall and the stone fruit that Chris is selling is getting more luscious by the week. Come and see Neil's latest timber creations. They are quite lovely. Who knows what surprises you may find on the BackYarders tables. Always some yumminess, fresh veg, eggs, coffee - beans or ground, honey and lots more. All grown and produced in the local area. We look forward to seeing you there between 8.30-12pm. Oh and don't forget next week is the Trash & Treasure, alongside the usual market. See more
03.01.2022 Have you seen the fabulous new paving just outside the gallery door? It look very spiffy. Great craftsmanship by Craig, Neil and Paz and a real asset to the gallery and market. Heartfelt thanks to Neil's daughter and Bill McHenry for providing the materials. We now have a good looking stable surface to put two more market tables under cover. If you're after anything herbal come and see Louise this week. The gluten free bread on Peter's stall is proving very popular, as are th...e other breads made by his own fair hand. Stone fruit is coming into full production, as the apples slip away for another season. Chris will have Peaches and Nectarines possibly from Tassie this week. Ready for another generation of veggies? Greg has those and more for your garden. Andy has tubs of mixed blueberries and native raspberries as well as rainforest plants. Neil will be trying out the new paving with his stall, showcasing his talents as a timber crafter and I hear that those delicious dark chocolate coated Florentines will be on the BackYarders this week, along with savoury muffins and who know what other goodies. All the usual community grown produce is expected. So come and experience all that is on offer at the market, in the gallery, the café and you can even have a peek at the potters at work in the studio. See you there rain or shine 8.30am-12noon.
