22.01.2022 Anzac day flyover. Whilst the usual Anzac morning activities will be very different this year due to Covid-19, some of the local Mt Gambier aeroclub pilots who ...own their own aircraft will conduct a flyover of the township at 10am tomorrow morning. Whilst we won't be in formation like these pilots (or in jets for that matter) we hope to make our own symbolic contribution in recognition of those who have given so much. See more

12.01.2022 Sadly VH-KTR was sold on Saturday September 15th 2012. (Ironic given the hangar was completed just a a few days earlier.) This was however always the plan. In the next 2-6 months we will purchase a faster aircraft with a better payload - all the better for some of the commuting we've done recently. In the last few weeks I'd flown (in separate flights) to The Sunshine Coast, Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide. In the future four of us will be able to fly further, faster and with some luggage. Watch this space...

08.01.2022 'Tis taking some time! After an inspection before I bought it (November 5th) and a month so far in Sydney they realised last week that the 2" backup altimeter (most of it is glass panel) has to go back to the USA to be converted to Ozzy units. This of course will take 5 weeks .Come on... the whole aircraft left the USA 9 weeks ago coordinated by the same team!

02.01.2022 Looks like we've bought a Cessna 400! The deal is struck just a small mountain of paperwork, disassembly, shipping, reassembly and Australian register to sort out (oh and the money - but fortunately the US dollar has slipped a little since the election). Our new plane will be VH-ODM

02.01.2022 Basic Aeronautical Knowledge course Aerostar aviation (our Mt Gambier based flying school) are planning to facilitate a Basic Aeronautical Knowledge (BAK) cour...se and are asking for expressions of interest. Philip (their local instructor) intends that the course will be 6 weeks in duration, held on Tuesday and Thursday nights 6:00pm - 9:00pm. Starting around 21st July.
