18.01.2022 Cancer Wellness Support names Leura Wellness Centre after founder Robyn Yates OAM On the 11th May, Cancer Wellness Support celebrated 15 years in operation with the vision being to provide affordable, subsidised therapies to people living with cancer, their carers and families throughout the Blue Mountains and Penrith Valley regions. As a celebration of this milestone, our Leura Support Centre, will be named the Robyn Yates Cancer Wellness Support Centre. This recognises the ...outstanding achievements of our founder Robyn Yates in establishing and expanding this vital organisation. Cancer Wellness Support provided over 5,700 therapies in 2018/2019 and has provided in excess of 50,000 subsidised treatments to clients, carers and families over the last 15 years. A small celebratory function attended by staff and supporters was held last Saturday at the Leura Centre where the renaming of the Centre was announced, Board member Kevin Stapleton presented a nostalgic slideshow travelling through Cancer Wellness Supports history, followed by presentations from the General Manager, Bronwen Johnston and Client Services Manager Viv Maitland. 14.01.2022 "Get Out of Here" was the first thing Angela Lennon said when we called her to let her know she had won our after "Dry July" Raffle. "I never win anything it is not in my DNA" was Angela's response. Well here at Cancer Wellness Support we are not sure what she is talking about because she also took home our 2019 Christmas Fundraising raffle. She was very exciting once we went through all the items she will receive and maybe we will need to ban her from our next raffle which will be A Christmas Hamper Extravaganza!
