22.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! Our Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill wrote to the state government expressing concern about our wildlife. "With between 70 and 80 percent of the world heritage area impacted by the black summer bushfires, we see more native animals close to Blue Mountains roads and built up areas."... He asked the state government if we could have koala and wildlife signs put up throughout the City of Blue Mountains and on the highway. The state government has agreed. He will advise as to the locations soon but if you see koala and wildlife warning signs around the place, you will know why.

20.01.2022 More appalling behavior. :( "Long Swamp is habitat for the Giant Dragonfly and sits at the headwaters of the Coxs River."

13.01.2022 What are your thoughts about raising the dam wall? Concerns have been raised about the endangered regent honeyeater and forest and woodland ecosystems if this goes ahead.

13.01.2022 Reclaim Kosci - a campaign is fighting to protect Kosciuszko National Park, it's native wildlife, water catchments and Indigenous heritage from the impacts of unmanaged, introduced horse populations. They have launched a new online parliamentary petition. If they can reach 20,000 signatures by mid January 2021 it will automatically trigger a debate in the NSW lower house. This will send a strong message to the government before the public exhibition of the draft Kosciuszko horse management plan, which is anticipated for Feb/March 2021. You can sign the petition here -

13.01.2022 What do you think about the proposed raising of the dam wall? We oppose it.

11.01.2022 Here's a good story!

10.01.2022 We can't allow this to happen! "Species including koalas, greater gliders and up to 50% of the remaining population of the critically endangered regent honeyeater, would be at risk. In the upstream area where floodwaters would be held, the box gum grassy woodlands could be significantly affected.Downstream, three other woodland and forest communities..could be driven to extinction."

The government blocked any debate on the bill. The bill will now go to the senate, so we only have until October to ensure it doesnt go through.

07.01.2022 Nine of the 10 largest California wildfires have occurred since 2003, but many of them reached their size more gradually than the current blazes, which spread with a speed and ferocity that even veteran firefighters had not witnessed.
