23.01.2022 As part of NAIDOC Week activities Class 5/6 read Cooee Mittigar: A Story on Darug Songlines by Jasmine Seymour and Leanne Mulgo Watson in preparation for engaging with the 50 Words Project by First Languages Australia. Students created posters to place around our classroom so that we can continue to familiarise ourselves with some common Darug words and phrases taught to us by Aunty Jacinta earlier in the year, and so start to become more connected to the country on which we are privileged to have our school. #NAIDOC #Darug #caringforcountry #firstlanguagesaustralia #BlueMountainsSteiner

20.01.2022 Do you have any plans for November?

19.01.2022 The Blue Mountains Steiner School teaching philosophy provides a balanced approach to academic, emotional, physical, spiritual and creative learning. The best way to get a feel for our school is to book a tour and come and check it out: https://bluemountainssteiner.nsw.edu.au/organise-a-tour/ #steinerschool #bluemountains #creative #steinereducation

18.01.2022 There are people who are said to be much like the Honey Grevillea, according to Minmia, author of Under the Quandong Tree. They are generous and give a lot, but their downfall is if they give too much, they may run out of sweet nectar (sustenance) for themselves. We have to find a balance between giving, receiving and reserving some for later, perhaps.

17.01.2022 Happy World Teachers Day! A big thank you to all our dedicated teachers at BMSS and around the world. In a difficult year you have excelled at keeping our kids engaged and learning and doing their best!

15.01.2022 Children’s screen time has rapidly increased in the past ten years, as has the growing list of negative associations with excessive recreational screen time. This research paper explores questions around why some efforts to reduce children’s screen time may be ineffectual, and others more effective: https://www.screenfreeparenting.com/the-key-to-cutting-scr/ #bluemountainssteiner #steinereducation #creativelearning #creativekids

11.01.2022 Our small class sizes allow teachers and teaching support staff to work with students individually to allow them to develop in their own unique way.
