24.01.2022 According to Facebook memories (and the recurring nightmares), it's four years since I left my heels, the balls of my feet and half of my left little toe on the delightful Mornington Peninsula. Was it delightful? I have NFI- I lost all sense of reality within an hour of walking 60 kms but it gave me incredible content fodder before, during and after the trek. I often tell people when they're thinking about their branding content to share glimpses into their personal life- wi...thout breaching their boundaries or privacy, or that of their family. It's how you spend your time away from your work that adds a layer of authenticity (yuk, hate that word, but alas) and likability to your branding- it's your story, after all, and the more multidimensional the better. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm off to rock in the corner and suck my thumb at the memories of the pain I inflicted on myself. This was me just shy of 40 kms, hoping a podiatrist could get me another 20km down the road without an amputation.

21.01.2022 Writing prompt time Although, this one is less about your own writing and more about sharing content that's not yours. What have you read/seen/heard lately that's relevant and interesting, that's aligned to your business goals and brand, and that your audience would find similarly inspiring and informative? Keep in mind it doesn't have to be directly related to your zone of genius- it's the behind the scenes content that can have absolutely nothing to do with your day job but show an insight into who you are as a person. But- keep it on brand!

My resting thinking face game has been strong, this writing is hard yakka in all the good ways, alternating between flowing so well it makes me breathless through to feeling like I’m metaphorically dancing through quicksand and everything in between. 13.01.2022 Recently, mid-meeting with a client, she said 'you have no idea the relief that working with you gives to me. to know that I don't have to come up with this month's communications- it's amazing.' Like a true professional, I blushed, stammered and made a joke, but on reflection, I think a lot of what I do beyond the tangible is giving people the time and the headspace to give their communications and story the deep consideration it deserves. And I love it!

12.01.2022 Happy New Year! I’m fabulously soul-replenished, windswept, sun-drenched, salt-encrusted and keratin-whipped (not stripped, God and Gosh-willing ). I ADORE this time of year- it’s perfect for dreaming and scheming and plotting and planning without the minutiae of everyday life taking over. New year resolutions cop a bit of flack but I love the sense of optimism that comes with the new chapter that a new year represents. 11.01.2022 In the space of 4 months my client finished the first draft of her incredible book. She's now deep in rewrite/revision mode which is where the rubber hits the road in the vernacular of my P&C clients. This is where I'm in deep with her and go pretty GD hard with suggestions- between comments and track changes the draft looks a bit like the aftermath of a crime scene but it's collaborative, intense (much resting thinking face) but joyful as together we amplify her words to create something incredible. 01.01.2022 On Friday, I had a glorious time writing alongside my Band of Batchers. I took five concepts from my content plan and turned them into blog posts- to be accurate, I turned them into first drafts of blog posts. You see, it is highly unusual for anything to be written in a way that is ready for publishing on the first run. In fact, most pieces are stronger for the considered thought and effort that comes through a decent editing process. Editing is more than checking spelling and grammar (although that is critical!) but it's aligning voice to brand and message to audience, all the good stuff!
