25.01.2022 When the local marine life has not read the memo on social distancing and comes rubbing up against you... Great diving straight after Christmas on Sunday and Monday. Thanks for sharing this great shot @jblank_photography #hellothere #mantaray #julianrocks #byronbay #brunswickheads

24.01.2022 Finally, the swell at Julian Rocks has died down and conditions were suitable to get back into diving today. 25-27deg water temp, viz circa 15 mtrs, water sligh...tly dirty (not really great for clean, clear imaging) but the marine life was outstanding. Highlight today was the sighting of a Bowmouth Guitarfish (Rhina ancylostoma) ... the first one I know of to be sighted at Julian Rocks since I started diving there in 2002. The mantas were in ... yeah ... and I added 2 new mantas to my personal Julian Rocks database. Of course the Leopard sharks continue to freely roam around the Julians and the school of cow-nose rays continue to hang about. Finally, there are currently a large number of white-spotted eagle rays that continue to swim all around the Julians. It's not often that you get to see so many eagle rays and some of them were quite tame. Another great day with Blue Bay Divers out of Brunswick Heads. See more

24.01.2022 While the bad weather stops us from diving, time to go through photos from the last couple of weeks. Hopefully these guys will be waiting for us out there again when the ocean has settled a bit... #leopardshark #zebrashark #julianrocks #byronbay #brunswickheads @jblank_photography

24.01.2022 This master of camouflage was spotted again yesterday. Thanks for the latest pic of our Clown Frogfish, Linda Stewart!

23.01.2022 Beautiful shot from Steve at innerplanetary.com We love his caption, too: A wobbegong negotiates morning traffic on the wall We’ve had some great dives yesterday with lots of Leopard Sharks and the forecast looks fantastic for Thursday this week. There’s one spot left, so give us a call if you’d like to come out!

23.01.2022 Here’s a little video of Sunday’s dive taken by Gary. It’s got some great footage of the Grey Nurse and he even managed to capture the Sandbar Whaler that cruised past us a couple of times. Thanks for sharing, Gary!

22.01.2022 It’s time to wave good-bye: Our whale watching season has finished early this year. Bon voyage to our magnificent whales! May your journey be safe and the Southern Ocean be full of krill for you! A big thank you to all our customers and friends who have joined us this year. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2021!

22.01.2022 How lucky are we to be able to surround ourselves with these beautiful sharks at Julian Rocks? You just stay in one spot and watch them circle around and around We had another couple of fantastic dives today, but it looks like the next few days will bring some wild weather. Fingers crossed it settles down quickly! @adriancoxphoto #julianrocks #leopardshark #brunswickheads #byronbay #scubadiving #freediving #freedivingphotography

22.01.2022 To our QLD customers: UPDATE: Sorry folks, the information we provided to you yesterday (below) was accurate at the time, but the zoning for border communities has since been changed. Here is the new map. 2483 is no longer included, that means we’ll see our QLD customers again when the border restrictions are lifted. Until then, we are operating as usual for everyone here in NSW https://www.health.qld.gov.au//map-border-zones-qld-border

20.01.2022 Blue ringed octopus at the rock today! Amongst plenty of other cool sightings Blue ringed octopus at the rock today! Amongst plenty of other cool sightings

19.01.2022 Ready to go diving? No better place to watch the rain than from below the surface! #tgif #letsgetwet @joshblankphotography #leopardshark #julianrocks #scubadiving #freediving #byronbay #brunswickheads

18.01.2022 Friday 21st: Today’s the day! We’ve got good conditions and not much wind (before it gets very windy again tomorrow) and we still have one spot left on our 11:30am whale watching trip this morning. Give us a call on 1800858155 if you’d like to come out!

14.01.2022 Happy World Manta Day! Who else is counting the days until warm water and Mantas return? @natoliunderwater #manta #worldmantaday #summerdiving #julianrocks

14.01.2022 Footage from our 6am trip this morning!!! What a magic day! @the_fat_whales_project : What an encounter!! We had a record breaking day out on the water today, 6 flights with the drone, 37 whales and two of the biggest pods we’ve sampled. This pod had 8 whales in it (the other had 11) and it was absolutely amazing to witness have to give a shout out to the amazing team at Blue Bay Divers in Brunswick Heads for helping our team out on the water every week during this migration

10.01.2022 The joy of being able to cross the border... Friendly welcome for our QLD customers yesterday! #borderbubble #wearein

07.01.2022 How time flies! This week marks our 10 year anniversary in the Brunswick Heads boat harbour. A million thanks to our amazing customers! Thank you for your continued support and for being part of our success! We look forward to another decade with you... #happyanniversary #10years #brunswickheads

07.01.2022 Just two friendly whales right beside the boat giving us their best impression of Julian Rocks... It’s been a great week! This shot was taken by skipper Roundy on Thursday when we took @the_fat_whales_project out #spyhop #julianrocks #brunswickheads #byronbay #whalewatching

06.01.2022 August is a great month for muggings (when whales circle the boat spy hopping, forcing us to stop and wait until they have satisfied their curiosity and allow us to move on). During the early southern migration we tend to get mugged quite often which is why August is our favourite month for whale watching. Thanks for the great photo from yesterday’s trip @tatianabadgery #mugging #spyhop #humpbackwhale #brunswickheads #whalewatching #byronbay

06.01.2022 All about the Leopards today! Had well over 30 cruising around the rock! Summer diving at its best

06.01.2022 Stunning days at Julian Rocks are a bit of a distant memory at the moment... We’ve had some shocking sea conditions over the last couple of weeks, but finally there is a silver lining on the horizon: Friday looks like a great day and we’ve still got some spots available. So if you’ve been waiting to get out there, give us a call and book your spot! @adriancoxphoto #quickbeforesummerisgone #julianrocks #brunswickheads #byronbay #scubadiving #freediving #leopardshark

05.01.2022 Here’s to a new start! Happy New Year to all our friends and customers. Thank you for your support in these challenging times. We wish you all the best for 2021! by @benjhicks

04.01.2022 Magical double dive at the Rock today. Sometimes it pays to go on a spontaneous solo adventure and get up at 4am 10-15m blue vis, 25 degrees, lots of Leopard Sharks on both dives, Fever of Cownose Rays outside the Cod Hole and Fish everywhere.

04.01.2022 Today's dive down at Julian Rocks

03.01.2022 We’ve been doing a few trips for @the_fat_whales_project this year which has been an amazing experience for all of us. While their plan is to record as many different whales as possible while we’re out there, some whales have a different idea and want the boat to stay around... #comeoutandplay #whalewatching #humpbackwhale #brunswickheads #byronbay

02.01.2022 Show us your belly! Great trips today! Thanks for the beautiful photo @kazlaz70 Btw two last minute spots available tomorrow morning. Just saying... 1800858155. #whalewatching #brunswickheads #byronbay #humpbackwhale
