25.01.2022 Wellness Our prekinder studio are using some of their time to rest in the shade and colour in. Recently we have decided to change our rest area that provides books and pillows, and transform it into a wellness area having activities in our area that we have found to be calming and relaxing. Our mandala colouring ins certainly are certainly apart of those activities! Our concentration with this experience completely takes over and we become so involved in our work we forg...et where we are! What do you do in your own time to relax and unwind?

21.01.2022 Today after watering our new garden we noticed that some of the water had run from the garden bed, creating muddy puddles! We decided to get rid of our shoes and socks so that we could enjoy the water and mud between our toes. We just adore sensory experiences!

13.01.2022 Yesterday in the Nursery Studio we looked deeper into what sand can do, how it looks when its wet, what is dry sand like when it is trickling though a sieve, how does it sound when it falls from our hand and hits a metal object, how many spoons we can scoop to fill a bowl and what other items can be found and collected from the sand? So many questions and opportunities for children to manipulate, experience the sensation of sand through their senses, developing motor skills, watch and learn from peers as they share their findings.

13.01.2022 Group stories while we play outside! Each day we capture little moments like this that mean the most! You can see relationships between educator and children grow through something so simple like this as reading stories, progresses into a large colllaboration experience, where we all learn more about each others thoughts and opinions.

12.01.2022 The Nursery children have been taking full advantage of the beautiful spring feeling weather we have been having this week .

11.01.2022 This week we practiced both our lockdown drill and our emergency evacuation drill all in the one drill We pretended that we had a bomb threat so we went into lockdown then we went on to our evacuation drill pretending that the threat was not a hoax and that we needed to evacuate the building Did you know that at Bluebird Early Learning we take health and safety very seriously and we are ensuring that our emergency drills are embedded by practicing these drills on a monthly basis

09.01.2022 This is so important

08.01.2022 Taking some time out in our outdoor reading nook! The sun is beautiful on our first day of spring so a well needed shady rest was necessary! We love reading stories and the stories in this area we picked ourselves! By creating a small area with books and shade, we are promoting a sense of well-being and encouraging our children to be independent, and understand when they need a drink or rest.

07.01.2022 * T E A T I M E * One of our favourite rituals at Cobram Bluebird is Tea Time! What learning is occurring? ... Children are strengthening fine motor skills and hand eye coordination when pouring tea and setting the table. They are learning to measure amounts, experimenting with trial and error to pour the perfect cup. They are engaging in reciprocal relationship with others, listening and interacting with their friends. They are able to recognise their own achievements and have a sense of autonomy over this experience.

07.01.2022 This week we decided to make sand play dough for our sensory table! The Junior and Toddler Studios enjoyed feeling the different texture of the dough. Together we gathered natural materials such as leaves, twigs, flowers to add to this experience.

06.01.2022 Our culture project in the prekinder studio this week was a focus on African tribes! We looked at the history behind many different tribes and were fascinated with how they survived, what they ate, the clothes they wore and how their lifestyles were built! This has been our most interesting focus so far, we are going to extend it for another week looking at some more cultural attributes.
