11.01.2022 Here’s one for the coaches! Knox City Council is excited to announce the next Club Development Program will be a workshop on ‘Relationship Coaching’. This workshop will be led by assistant coach of the Deakin Melbourne Boomers, Larissa Anderson. Larissa will explore ways to really tap into players, to be able to understand them and read them, to learn how to identify what makes them tick and to keep them focused. Build those relationships to get the most out of the individual... and the team. In Larissa’s words; ‘The player to coach (and coach to player) relationship is fundamental for ultimate success on the court. There are several components to any quality relationship, but the characteristics I am going to focus on between coaches and players are respect, trust, communication, and compromise.’ Participants will be encouraged to submit a question on this topic that Larissa will answer throughout the evening. There will also be time at the end for Q&A. Session Details Session: Relationship Coaching Workshop Date: Wednesday 4 November Time: 7.30pm Bookings: https://www.stickytickets.com.au//relationship_coaching_wo Due to the expected high number of participants bookings are essential and will close at midday Wednesday 28 October 2020, unless ‘sold out’ prior. Participants will be emailed the Zoom link after registrations are closed.

03.01.2022 Upcoming Season Update As you all know normally we would be well underway with Pre Season Training with our games to start in just a few weeks. However as you are aware with the current restrictions around COVID our normal plans have been put on hold. At this stage we are unsure as to when we will be able to resume and are waiting for more information from a number of sources before being able to make a final decision.... WHAT WE DO KNOW We have been advised by Softball Victoria that Softball has been deemed a CONTACT SPORT so this will have an impact on our return to training and play dates. WHAT WE ARE WAITING ON CONFIRMATION OF We are waiting on a Ruling from SPORT VICTORIA regarding a ruling on whether our grounds will be considered a full venue or if each DIAMOND will be considered a venue. If the GROUNDS are considered a venue we will only be able to host ONE GAME at a time at the grounds as opposed to the three or four if each DIAMOND is considered a venue. Softball Victoria is STRONGLY advocating with Sport Victoria to have each Diamond considered as a Venue. Once this has all been decided and confirmed with the relevant governing bodies we will be able to communicate further on our start dates for both Training and Games. Please stay safe and look after yourselves and family members in these trying times and we look forward to seeing everyone once we are finally able to resume

02.01.2022 SEMR Season Update The SEMR committee held a meeting last week to discuss the return to play. Softball Victoria was also in attendance and they advised that a number of issues remain outstanding with Sports Victoria. WHAT WE DO KNOW... We have been advised by Softball Victoria that Softball has been deemed a CONTACT SPORT. This will have an impact on our return to training and play dates as we will be one of the last groups of sport to be able to start. Given that the earliest start date for contact sport would be mid November and clubs would not have had time to get teams together or train SEMR have decided that for both Senior and Junior games the season will start on the 9th January 2021. We are however going to try and organize some round robin's. if possible, prior to Christmas so that players have a chance to return to play as early as possible. Please remember at this time dates are only proposed as we do still need to wait on the state government to advise their way out of lockdown and then Sports Victoria to announce the dates for return to play.
