21.01.2022 Last Sunday the Central North AGM was held at Barraba, where there was plenty on the table for discussion. There has been several changes in the executive-Paul King (Moree) has taken the presidency of the zone on.Louise Wilson (Inverell) is the senior Vice President and our very own Daniel Kahl is the junior Vice President.David Rodgers and Wayne McMahon are continuing on in their roles. Thanks to the outgoing executive members for all of their hard work,we appreciate all your... efforts. The draw for 2021 has been locked in and will be circulated soon. The most exciting thing to come out of the day was not only did all clubs agree unanimously that a Colts competition is critical to our zone, and that we need to be working towards every club fielding a Colts team in the next few years as the North West Regional Competition starts dropping players into our laps, but a competition structure was confirmed-in 2021 there WILL DEFINITELY BE AN UNDER 21 COLTS COMPETITION!! Unlike other previous years where things are still up in the air regarding what ages it is,what clubs are in or out etc etc basically right up to and sometimes even after round 1-we know now what it is and that it will keep our colts players with the rest of the club each Saturday. So,in a nutshell-Colts is definitely on,you’ll see a draw soon and DK is a bloody legend for putting his hand up to help out at zone level.Congratulations mate,we’re all proud of you and appreciate all you do. **Photo below of the Colts team before the preliminary final at Walcha last year. These are the same legends who will make up the U21 team next year,so if you want to be a part of it,or know someone who might, keep an eye and an ear out for preseason training announcements.**
21.01.2022 Here’s to a great day,no matter where you are. #kidsupsobloodyearly #toomanyfootiesisneverenough #blueboarrugby

21.01.2022 Gday all Just a reminder, touch footy and beers will be happening this Saturday at Dangar park from 5pm onwards(weather dependent). It’s a good chance for both current and new players to get together before the new year, as well as get some information in upcoming events including the Waratahs game. 20.01.2022 For those who have been wondering if the new lights will be very bright.......this is with only 1 pole running.Imagine when all 4 are done!! #sobright #getunderthehighball #futuressobrightigottawearshades #blueboarrugby
20.01.2022 One of our very own, extremely well followed, highly renowned influencers via all social media channels-the great Ashley Carolan -took things online to confirm what we already knew. Please study the results of his intricate question. **Maybe Zeb should help you out with it next time mate....it’s poll.Other than that, strong initiative from you.**
19.01.2022 Wrap up from the NWRYR games in Tamworth... Under 14 and Under 16 girls teams both were victorious in their plate finals,an extremely pleasing result for them. The improvement week to week from the girls has been phenomenal.Denis Harvey,Matt Jones and Daisy Robinson have been outstanding as coaches.Congratulations to everyone! The U14 boys, coached by the great Toffa Fowler and Cub Pursche had a narrow loss to Calrossy,27-31.Despite going down, each player contributed strongly,a...nd with a few different bounces of the ball perhaps the scoreboard may have been reversed.Well done boys. The last game for the Blue Boars tonight was our U16 boys.Ken Campbell and Chris Watkins prepared the boys for a huge game and that’s exactly what was played.32-0 to Calrossy was the final score, but it wasn’t a true reflection of the boys efforts. Each and every one of them should be really proud of themselves, and I hope they hold their heads high.At no point did they give up or lower their efforts,I couldn’t be more impressed with this group of young men.Fantastic competitors all of them. The future is so bright for our club.Once COVID is gone watching live teenage rugby on a Friday night should be on everyone’s agenda. The passion and tribalism is amazing. Congratulations to everyone involved.
19.01.2022 U14 girls played 3 games vs Inverell on Friday night in wet conditions at Moree.Although they went down in all 3 they can hold their heads high, and can be really proud of their improvement. Denis Harvey and Matt Jones are doing a great job coaching, assisted by our women’s team stars,Daisy Robinson and Zoe Tomlinson. Keep up the good work girls!
19.01.2022 The juggernaut that is the Central North Junior rugby representative program will be bigger than ever in 2021 and are needing some expertise in their coaching ranks. Anybody who’s keen to pass on their knowledge to the best juniors in the zone please contact Coff for more information.A great opportunity for developing and expanding your coaching career. #investinthefuture #thenextgeneration #firstgraderstobe @centralnorthjuniorrugby

17.01.2022 Pack is starting the kids around the shire off early for season 2021.He’s delivering a fresh new rugby program in conjunction with NSW Rugby that he’s developed to most of the primary schools in term 4,and there’s some really great things planned for term 1 next year. Tomorrow sees him at Narrabri Public School, where he’ll be busy with a large group. There’s a rumour going around the little Coff’s are going to be filling in as the tackling bags,so pack your shoulders kids! Well done Jake Packer, the juniors will be firing next season after JSP Sport Development has done the rounds.

12.01.2022 This afternoon and into tonight our 14s and 16s teams, both boys and girls, are all playing in the final series of the North West Regional Youth Rugby Competition. This is the third year of this successful competition, and as per usual the Blue Boars punch well above our weight. All 4 teams have improved enormously during the shortened season, and are playing some outstanding rugby.Toffa even says he’s enjoying watching the scrums! 08.01.2022 A few more shots of the lights getting done,it’s shaping up well.Things are definitely getting exciting now! If you scroll to the end you’ll see our three resident electrical engineers and lighting experts discussing our bid for the next World Cup (presumably). On the other hand maybe the cheeky photographer was more on the money with the 3 stooges? We’ll leave you to decide. #wearyoursunniestotraining #shinierthantoffashead #doineedsuncreamfornightgamesnow #blueboarrugby #tusksup
07.01.2022 Our very own Joey Fowler has once again proven to be at the very top of his age group, gaining selection in the NSW Waratahs Gen Blue system for the second year running. Congratulations Joey,we’re all extremely proud of you and wish you the very best of luck. **Well done to Toffa and Amanda too for wearing out several cars driving him here, there and everywhere to ply his trade and for keeping the motel industry afloat.Without super committed parents things like this simply don...’t happen.**

04.01.2022 **EDIT**(definitely on TUESDAY the 1st,the advertisement has a typo saying Wednesday) It’s that time of the year folks. Our AGM will be held on December 1st,6:30pm at Dangar Park. Whilst 2020 has been without doubt disappointing from a club rugby perspective, the 2021 season should be massive. There’s a lot of plans ready to roll out to make sure the Blue Boars have one of our best years yet,on and off the field. We’re looking for a few fresh faces to join the committee and be a part of it all,so come along to the AGM.Further information regarding committee roles and any other questions contact the club email [email protected] or Mick Coffey on 0407616828
04.01.2022 Aside from the heavy Blue Boar flavour in the Walgett Rams recent premiership, there’s been other silverware held aloft around the place by former players. Yesterday JB Ballon and Richie Hunt were part of Walcha’s smash and grab effort in New England rugby this year. Auley O’Shea featured heavily in Newport Breakers colts title in the Sydney subbies competition. What other clubs have won a comp this year involving former Blue Boars?
04.01.2022 A big, loud congratulations to Martha Harvey,Bella Cruikshank and Shona McFarland who have been selected in the zone U17 girls 7s team to attend the state championships in Bowral on December 12 and 13. Well done ladies,we’re extremely proud of you!
04.01.2022 Juniors will still be playing.
03.01.2022 The U14s boys had a good win against Moree at Dangar Park last Wednesday night, with the scoreboard reading 42-31 at full time. All the teams, both boys and girls, that are playing on Friday nights in the NWRYR Competition are going gangbusters!! Adding to the excitement is the fact there will be U18s in both boys and girls next season. We’ll be able to get a double shot of rugby action every weekend, with youth games on Friday nights and seniors games Saturdays once COVID is gone... and the crowds can return. Talk about good! *Photos courtesy of Clayton Pursche* Cheers Cub.
03.01.2022 We’ve got a strong record when it comes to having referees from the Blue Boars blowing the whistle around the zone and even further. It’d be great to see some fresh blood enter our referee ranks. If anyone’s interested in the idea, jump online and follow the steps below. It’s a great way to stay fit and engaged with the game, and you get the best view in the house! **Neither James Albert or Matt McDonnell are the course instructors, despite often thinking they are referees**

01.01.2022 Please see the post below regarding the funeral service details for Gilbert Gilbo Harris on Monday. Gilbo was a member of our Colts team.A raw, tough, powerful front rower who had time for everyone and was always cheery. It was always great fun to watch the first 20 minutes or so of a Colts game, then put the big fella into the game with the instructions just bend ‘em back Gilbo, hit the line hard and upset their scrum. After that it was just a case of watching the carnage ens...ue. A truly great bloke,I feel proud to have coached him. Gone but not forgotten.
01.01.2022 A quick post to wish DK and Knighty all the very best in the Western Plains grand final today in Walgett, playing for the Rams. We expect Walgett to get up against Nyngan due to the fact they have Blue Boars in their team (the lads are pictured here, standing on bar stools in an attempt to look taller than former Blue Boar giant Harry Pye,who happens to be the Walgett skipper today.) So for today, and today only,it’s horns up white!
