25.01.2022 Like cooking dinner on a Friday night, cleaning up car spew and baking birthday cakes, there are some things in life you just have to outsource. I got to trial and write about a fabulous new resource for kids' sex education. I give it two very enthusiastic thumbs up.

25.01.2022 This week I’ve written about: Botox residual income leadership in healthcare... interior design pet poo And I just landed a campaign about...sharks. This is why I don’t niche. I love the variety.

25.01.2022 Bit of a Friday funny (do people still say that?) I am allergic to generic stock photos. But if Emilia Clarke is into them, I might reconsider.

24.01.2022 I recently interviewed Karen who shared her story of raising two boys with food allergies. And today, I'm working on some blogs for another mum who's about to launch an exciting new business for kids with food allergies. How I wish the community (and certain publicity-hungry businesses) would take this more seriously. Life with food allergies is tough enough.

23.01.2022 Copybeasts unite! Annual pilgrimage to #CopyCon19 to hang with my favourite copywriters and talk all things copy. There have been awesome presos, lots of laughs and too many egg sambos...and we’re only halfway. #copycon #iamcopywriter

23.01.2022 Because on Fridays I attempt to be funny. #byefelicia #loveyakaren

22.01.2022 Always exciting when one of the websites you've written goes 'live'. Loved working on this SEO copy with the design team at Paul Kelly Creative and the amazing engineers and entrepreneurs at Capricorn Power. They are changing the clean energy game. If you need some pre-Christmas copy to liven up your site, get in touch. I have limited availability from mid-November.

22.01.2022 My latest article for Mamamia is about all the fun and free things you can do to get the kids away from the mouse/remote these school holidays. The boys were very obliging models and they look super stylish in their gear from Rebel Sport. Even Wilbur managed to get involved.

22.01.2022 I recently chatted to Carla, an infection prevention expert, about how we can keep our homes clean and COVID free. I'm a big fan of the Clinell wipes and am using them all over the house. They don't wreck my skin and nails. And they work!

21.01.2022 One of the things I love about being a copywriter is the fact that I get to meet and interview so many awesome people. I think one my strengths is putting people at ease so I can extract and tell their story accurately and thoughtfully. I've wanted to write a 'the two of us' style piece for ages so I was thrilled when my amazing editor at Mamamia gave me the opportunity to write this piece for Shebah.... Shebah elevates and supports women by allowing them to work on their own terms and get fairly remunerated. Christy and Alison are a shining of example of the importance of women supporting and empowering each other to excel in careers they love.

19.01.2022 My latest for Mamamia is a trial of the handy tools on the eChoice website. Quick and easy way to see how much mula you can get your hands on for a new home or investment property.

18.01.2022 Wow, September is proving to be a bumper month for the budge with enquiries coming in thick and fast. This week I'm working on: SEO web copy for a new not-for-profit website SEO web copy revisions for a (mammoth) engineering website ... A CEO and Board Chair intro for a Reconciliation Action Plan A feature article (sponsored content for Mamamia) A 2020 communications and marketing strategy for a construction company It's cray (the fam is living on takeaway) but I'm loving every second of it.

16.01.2022 In the lead-up to my Seminar Session with The Design Coach Australia, I spoke to Andrew and the team about: my career transition from chorus girl to copywriter how I'm coping with COVID my advice for writing better blogs

15.01.2022 I know we live in a digital world but there’s still something special about seeing your name in print. It’s a privilege to bring Jeanette’s story to a wider audience. She deserves no less. The first piece I ever got published was a political essay in The Saturday Age. Back when print was booming. It was such a thrill. And such an important story to tell. About growing up during apartheid. White privilege. Gross injustice.... Yesterday’s awards have inspired me to write more biographical/political writing. Because our stories have power. They need to be told. Especially now.

14.01.2022 Absolutely thrilled that my non-fiction short story, Ukubona has been shortlisted for the Ada Cambridge Prose Prize 2019. The awards are part of the Williamstown Literary Festival which runs on 15th & 16th June. This story is very close to my heart and centres around my relationship with Jeanette, the wonderful woman who worked for our family while I was growing up in South Africa. I'm honoured that, win or lose, Ukubona will now be published in the anthology. ... Wish me luck for the 15th! (This pic was taken the last time I saw Jeanette in August 2016.)

13.01.2022 Three days into home schooling, eleventy billion to go....

11.01.2022 Juggling full-time work while homeschooling two children is tough. As women, we tend to be our own worst enemies - trying to do it all and compromising our wellbeing in the process. When Lockdown 2.0 started, I adopted a new mantra - do what you can, outsource what you can afford, let go of the rest. I wrote about my new mantra (and my love of Rescue Remedy) for Mamamia.... "If the house isn't pristine, so be it. If the sheets get cleaned once a fortnight instead of once a week, it's winter, who cares? If dinner is scrambled eggs on toast instead of meat and three veg, no one is going to get scurvy. I'd rather eat my eggs with a smile than scowl over a lamb chop. If we can finish up the day feeling happy, calm and connected as a family, that's all that matters."

10.01.2022 Anyone else hanging for a holiday? I interviewed some thrifty parents about how to holiday on a budget.

09.01.2022 I think a few parents out there will identify with this. Fussy eating, man has it caused me some strife. But I’ve taken a leaf out of Elsa’s book and learned to let it go.

04.01.2022 Absolutely thrilled to receive the Commended award in the Ada Cambridge Biographical Prose Prize 2019. For the first time ever, this award was open to the whole of Victoria and the standard was exceptional. Thanks Williamstown Literary Festival for the recognition and Carmel Bird for officiating. @ Williamstown Literary Festival

02.01.2022 Wrote this fun piece about the sweet hell that is getting my kids ready for school in the morning. Seriously, put.on.your.shoes.

01.01.2022 You never think it will happen to you, until it does. Wrote this piece for the Victorian State Government's 'Look Before You Lock' campaign. By removing the stigma around this topic and empowering people with simple checks, we can avoid future fatalities. P.S. This topic always divides parents/carers into the "yep I get it" and the "hell no, I would never do that" groups. I totally get how it can and does happen. Let's all judge a little less yeah?... P.P.S Horrific photo of me but it's all in the spirit of keeping it real.

01.01.2022 This vid was played at #CopyCon19 and it made me cry laugh. I’m so grateful that in all my years of copywriting I’ve only had great clients (bar one).
