23.01.2022 I am a huge orchid enthusiast. I absolutely adore them. My Cattleya (orange) is flowering for the first time. Its now over three years old. ... My mum also shares the Orchid love. This is her Phalaenopsis. It has flowered constantly for 3+ years. When one spike finishes, another is about to open. The flowers are usually a vivid white colour, but this time have a green tinge. And the newest flowers are much more green, much tinier, and feel like leaves rather than petals. Theres always a surprise when it comes to growing Orchids. Best tip I can give you all, especially those of us here in SA with our crazy weather... Have them on your indoor windowsills. I keep ours in the kitchen and bathroom, which the windows face West. My newest addition is a beautiful Cymbidium Orchid. A completely different colour to all Ive had. A huge thank you to my in-laws ( Christine ) and Bunnings Berri for my 35th Birthday present last month. Bec

20.01.2022 Hope everyone is staying safe in this wild weather today. And we hope all of your gardens survive and stay rooted in the ground.
20.01.2022 While everyone is practicing social distancing and in self isolation, were using our time at home to plant some Desert Rose seeds. Using our seeds which came off one of the plants we grew three years ago from a seed also. Theyre such a beautiful plant. ... Harder to grow here in SA with our frosts through winter, but they are very high on the list of our favourites. See more
19.01.2022 Seeds coming from overseas can pose a huge risk to our flora, and fauna. Not to mention our Australian food industry. Be safe, and if you receive any unordered seeds, please contact Biosecurity. https://www.agriculture.gov.au/biosecurity... And please, if possible, buy Australian seeds.
19.01.2022 Yesterday, we became husband and wife. 22 years of knowing each other since the first time we dated in high school. We’ve been separated by distance and had other relationships in these years, but true love always brought us back to each other. What can we say, the heart wants what it wants. ... It was a fabulous day celebrating marrying my best friend.
18.01.2022 Hoping for more rain.
17.01.2022 Trimming the palm fronds
16.01.2022 Happy 3rd Birthday to our little helper.
15.01.2022 We will be taking a little time off over this Christmas period. From Christmas Eve up until the 2nd of January. A much needed break to spend some extra time with our two year old son. From our little family to all of yours, we wish you happiness this Christmas, and look forward to seeing you in 2020. ... Keep cool, and remember to drink some water to avoid the hangovers.
15.01.2022 We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for your patience during this ongoing craziness of COVID-19. While this virus is still very much in Australia, we are feeling a little safer about going back to work now. We are taking new appointments/jobs as of next Monday (18th May). ... Social distancing rules still definitely apply, and we ask that you keep a minimum of 2 metres away from us, as we will with you also. Our sons health is still very much on our minds. (Hes not sick at all, he has a lower immune system than normal so hes quite susceptible to colds and chest infections) And with our usual flu season about to kick-off, its important we dont carry the flu from one customer to another. Please continue to let us know beforehand, if youre feeling unwell. We look forward to seeing you all again, and welcoming new customers to the BBG squad.
13.01.2022 This was a tough couple of Pines to remove. Planted over 40 years ago, each plant was over 3 metres around. Filled up over 7 trailer loads. Had a steel rod in the middle of each, so was a matter of finding them without causing injuries while using our tools. ... Removed over three separate mornings due to the extreme heat we had in SA a few weeks ago. Trees could not be ripped out due to a water meter being within 10cm of the base. Both rods are still inside the left over stumps as they have proved impossible to remove safely for us. Customer was very happy to be rid of them and happy with these stumps which a beautiful pot can be put on. (Metal rod on the left still yet to be cut off at stump level) (Parts of images blurred/ covered for privacy reasons and respect towards the neighbours around)

09.01.2022 Our beautiful Calothamnus is flowering. Truly an amazing flower. The flower is different to most others in that its claw like shape is technically only half a flower (the top half).

07.01.2022 A garden extension on a very tight budget. (More to be done overtime) Bricks used from an old building which had been knocked down. White Sand/gravel from under an area where pavers had been removed. ... Lattice for plants to climb on, a left over from a previous garden display. Old pieces of steel used to peg the lattice. Soil in garden from old pot plants which had died, and bulb pots which are now dormant.

04.01.2022 Hello all, As most of you may know, our son was born prematurely, at 30 weeks. His immune system is not that of a normal toddler his age. ...
