14.01.2022 Sixty-six years ago today Santa joined the fledgling Blue Nurses on their home visits to spread some Christmas cheer. We may not have been doing this as long as Santa, and we use the door instead of the chimney, but for decades we’ve been going to where help is needed. 13.01.2022 Meet Rona, a proud Mamu-Kuku Yalanji woman. Rona has brought cultural appreciation workshops to our Blue Care staff across Queensland, from Wakka Wakka country in Kingaroy to Yugembeh country at Coolangatta. We are working hard to embed cultural safety in our services and build strong, respectful relationships with the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities we serve. The ‘Being Culturally Welcoming’ workshop helps inform our businesses’ goals to create or leverage their connections to local traditional owners.

06.01.2022 On the 11th of the 11th at 11am we will remember them. They went with songs to the battle, they were young, Straight of limb, true of eye, steady and aglow. They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,... They fell with their faces to the foe. They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old; Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn. At the going down of the sun and in the morning We will remember them. For the Fallen, Laurence Binyon Photo of the 1918 Armistice Day March in Queen St, Brisbane.
