25.01.2022 We're looking to fill the roster for this weekend. We still require two marshals and a photographer. If you can assist, please let us know and we'll get you on the roster. Thanks very much everyone.

24.01.2022 7am update: no rain at bgh!!!! Please bring mozzie spray as our stores are extremely low! Just in case you were wondering Blue Gum Hills parkrun is still on this morning. However we still need another marshal. This will be a selfless position this morning with quite a bit of rain falling so you will need an umbrella and a good rain jacket! #marshalsareheroestoday

22.01.2022 Leap day parkrun....

21.01.2022 Good morning parkrunners, it looks like we have a post-parkrun cafe again! The Minmi cafe opened last week and from all reports, business is going great! A few of the Blue Gum Hills parkrunners are going down there for coffee after parkrun this morning. Why not join them and check it out? A great way to support local business too!

19.01.2022 Congratulations Vicki Zacharko on her 100th parkrun today! Vicki has run 50 times at Maitland, 19 at BGH, 3 at Lake Mac, The Terrace, Blackbutt, Stockton, 2 at The Beaches, Newy, 1 at Rocks Riverside, San Remo, Mt Penang, Calamvale, Mitchelton, Wynnum, White Rock, Ashgrove, SIngleton, Nulkaba, Fingal Bay, The Entrance, Callaghan, Lismore and Lakeview! Definitely working towards regionnaire status Vicki and also I'm sensing a love for parkrun tourism! Vicki's fastest time is 37:16 and she has volunteered 4 times. Congratulations Vicki! Well done!

13.01.2022 Hello BGH parkrunners. The current position with regard COVID-19 and implications for parkrun events has been updated and communicated overnight from the Global Head of Communications. A decision was made to suspend all parkrun events in Australia. We have been added to the list of a number of countries who will not be running parkrun events until at least April and possibly longer. For further details see the parkrun Australia facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/parkrunAU/?__tn__=%2Cd%2CP-R&eid=ARClz5RLWkbEYkf5KsuIzWUtaXUgQtCGMcKyibPmRWahlHcnW5xFaAax8f6Es3nsjoql8zvIJuRCVejv We hope you can all remain active in some way and remain safe and healthy. We look forward to catching up again with you all when we return.

12.01.2022 Parkrun has been suspended for quite a while now. Here's a memory of Emma's Turbo boost high fives to keep you motivated. Her high fives sure made a lot of people smile (most of all Emma). Parkrun will be back one day and so will the volunteers.

12.01.2022 Good morning! We are still looking for somebody to do the pre-event set up as well as a timekeeper and marshal for this coming Saturday, 14 March. Please drop us a line below if you can help out!

08.01.2022 Good morning Blue Gum Hills parkrun family! Just thought I’d call-in to say hello and see how you are all coping with the self isolation? Are you still getting out for a run? What are you doing with your Saturday mornings now? This morning I caught up with one of my faves out at BGH. It was superb out there and the fragrances from the bush were such a blessing! We even did the dogleg!... Blue Gum Hills parkrun is one of life‘s pleasures that I’m sure many of you are missing. So I thought it might be a nice idea to get you to post some parkrun photos with some of your parkrun faves......perhaps a friend that you would not have met if it had not been for parkrun! Have you caught up with them in the last couple of weeks?

08.01.2022 This parkrun day AKA Saturday 29th is Leap day ! This is a first for parkrun AND the next time we can do this, is in 2048 ! So let’s leap into it this week 8am start

06.01.2022 It's me again BGH parkrunners! There has been an issue with the 1st and 2nd place getters appearing on the results page. I have spoken with parkrun HQ and it seems this has been an issue for other parkruns today as well. The issue has been sent to UK parkrun HQ for investigation. Rest assured Ben and Hyewon your runs have been recorded and you should have received your email confirmation.

05.01.2022 Good morning! This coming Sunday is International Women’s Day and we would love to celebrate accordingly at Blue Gum Hills parkrun! This is a great opportunity to bring your girlfriend, mother, auntie, sister, grandma, niece, cousin - or maybe even the girl next door!!! We still have a few volunteer roles to fill including two marshalling spots and photographer. Why not pair up with a girl you know to share these roles together? Please drop us a line below if you can help out!

03.01.2022 Good evening BGH parkrunners.. an important update re tomorrow: At this stage BGH IS GOING AHEAD (Sat 14th March) The decision to attend tomorrow’s event is entirely yours. We support any decision you make - including Volunteers.... If you fall into a vulnerable category, have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19 or have recently returned from an at-risk country, we politely ask that you do not attend. Here are a few other practices we will promote in an attempt to keep our community healthy: * We encourage volunteers to bring their own hand sanitiser * We will be supplying gloves to Volunteers * Encouraging people (including volunteers) to stay home if they feel ill * Avoid touching face, where possible Unfortunately, we don’t have hand sanitizer to distribute. We will also be taking the following precautions: * We will wash finish tokens after each event. * During the pre-start briefing, we will ask participants to refrain from touching or contacting others, spitting; and also remind them to cover coughs and sneezes. * Participants will be asked to hold their own tokens for scanning and then place them in a bucket to avoid our volunteer (scanners) handling them We ask you to be vigilant, to refrain from attending if you have flu-like symptoms, and to be mindful of the more vulnerable members of your communities. Thankyou for your assistance with the above. If there is any change to this, we will post on this page tomorrow morning just after 7 am.

02.01.2022 We are missing finish tokens 69 and 70. If you have mistakenly taken one of these tokens home, could you please bring it back with you next week. No questions asked Thank you.

02.01.2022 Please note that all Australian parkrun events have been suspended until further notice.
