25.01.2022 Just a reminder that the December BMARC meeting will be the clubs Christmas meeting. Please bring along a plate to share and the BBQ will be set up and hot for those that would like to cook their own meat. There will be tea, coffee and soft drinks provided and a Christmas hamper will be the lucky door prize. If you have got a project that you have been working on, please bring it along for a bit of show and tell. The club will be open around 18:30 for a 19:00 kick off.



22.01.2022 Updates to meetings over the Easter period. The BMARC clubhouse is normally open on the 1st and 3rd Saturdays of the month. However, due to the Easter weekend falling on the second Saturday the opening hours/days of the Clubhouse for the rest of April are as follows:-... Saturday & Sunday 8th & 9th - CLOSED - Foundation weekend NO CANDIDATES Wednesday 12th - OPEN - 10am to 2pm (contact Ron on [email protected] to confirm) Wednesday 12th - Standard/Advanced upgrade evening class IN RECESS FOR EASTER. Saturday 15th - CLOSED - Easter Saturday Wednesday 19th - OPEN for Standard/Advanced upgrade evening class 7pm - 9pm Saturday 22nd - CLOSED Wednesday 26th -OPEN for Standard/Advanced upgrade class 7pm - 9pm Saturday 29th - OPEN between 10am and 2pm.

22.01.2022 It is with sadness that I write this post to let people know that Danny Clark, VK2WLS passed away on Sunday. I will pass on information regarding the funeral once it has been announced. Vale Danny, VK2WLS

21.01.2022 Just some updates. Hoang Dinh will be speaking on the Internet of Things on Friday 1st October at 7:30pm. JOTA will be running via Zoom and online platforms from Saturday 16th October to Sunday 17th October. In December, we are hoping to do a face-to-face Foundation Licence weekend

Travelling from Sydney, turn right at the Glenbrook traffic lights on the Great Western Highway into Hare St, and Moore St is the first on the right. For those coming from the west, turn left at the traffic lights. Gates will open at 0900hr’ Ticketed entry fee of $5, as there will be a lucky door prize for one lucky attendee. Sellers tables are $15 each. Clubs or individuals will need to contact the Secretary to book a spot. A sausage sizzle will be available ($2.50 for a sausage sandwich, & $1.50 for drinks) There will be a BMARC sale table and also a giveaway table. 12.01.2022 Amateur Radio: Blue Mountains Amateur Radio Club Inc. (BMARC) was established in 1958 and provides a focal point for the Amateur Radio community in the Blue Mountains and surrounding areas. Members share information about the many diverse fields encompassed by the fascinating hobby of Amateur Radio including competitions, construction, education, satellite, and of course using radio to talk to the world. Meetings are held on the first Friday of each month at the old Glenbrook Scout Hall, 4 Moore St, Glenbrook.. 04.01.2022 THE Next General Meeting OF 2017 WILL BE 7th April 2017. WE HAVE A NEW START TIME FOR 2017 DOORS OPEN AT 7.00PM FOR A 7.30 PM START.... THE SATURDAY MEETING WILL BE THE FIRST AND THIRD SATURDAY EACH MONTH 10AM TO 2PM. WE ARE ALSO OPENING ON SECOND WEDNESDAY OF THE MONTH 10 AM TO 2 PM.

02.01.2022 The first Friday night meeting for the club will be on Friday 5th February 2021 at the BMARC club room, 4 Moore Street, Glenbrook. Due to the current COVID situation, meeting participants are required to wear face masks. A supper will be provided after the meeting as well. The first Foundation licence training and assessment weekend for 2021 will be held at the BMARC clubrooms on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th February, 2021. Training and exams will be held for new radio amateu...rs and exams will be available for anyone who wishes to upgrade to Standard or Advanced licences. If you would like to attend the meeting on Friday 5th February or sit for any of the upcoming examinations contact the club secretary, Irene VK2VAN. 02.01.2022 Amateur Radio Foundation training course at the Blue Mountains Amateur Radio Club. Dear All, this is little reminder about the forthcoming Amateur Radio Foundation training course to be run on the weekend of Saturday and Sunday 12 and 13 August, 2017.... The venue will be 4 Moore Street, Glenbrook 2773. Please arrive at 8.30am for a 9am start. The day should finish by about 5pm. Saturday will comprise training and on Sunday there will be an hour's revision followed by the theory and practical exams. You will be examined individually on practical aspects, so bring a book to read while you are waiting. You will need to bring :-) Your copy of the Foundation Manual entitled "Your Entry Into Amateur Radio". IT IS VITAL THAT YOU READ THE MANUAL BEFORE YOUR ATTEND THE TRAINING. PLEASE PURCHASE THE BOOK FROM THE WIA BEFORE YOU COME. The Blue Mountains Club also has copies for sale for $25, please contact the Education Officer, Jan VK2FEB by return email, to secure a copy. Lunch for Saturday & Sunday [tea & coffee is provided]. A notepad and pen/pencil YOU WILL NEED SOME FORM OF PHOTO IDENTIFICATION - This is particularly important for any person who does not hold a drivers license. Student Photo ID, Passport is fine. A 35 X 45mm passport size colour photo. This MUST be on quality photo paper. Photos printed on plain paper are NOT acceptable. There is a $10 donation asked for the Blue Mountains Amateur Radio Club clubhouse. Membership forms will be available on the day. There will be a fee for the examination and for a callsign allocation.
