24.01.2022 Have you seen a platypus in the wild? Should they be listed as a threatened species? "While sharing koalas' global standing as an emblematic Australian animal at risk, platypuses get much less attention in part because they are nocturnal and elusive, making them harder to trap and track in the wild."

20.01.2022 Reclaim Kosci - a campaign is fighting to protect Kosciuszko National Park, it's native wildlife, water catchments and Indigenous heritage from the impacts of unmanaged, introduced horse populations. They have launched a new online parliamentary petition. If they can reach 20,000 signatures by mid January 2021 it will automatically trigger a debate in the NSW lower house. This will send a strong message to the government before the public exhibition of the draft Kosciuszko horse management plan, which is anticipated for Feb/March 2021. You can sign the petition here -

10.01.2022 1700 threatened plants and animals have not been prioritised for protection. These include greater gliders, southern brown bandicoots, the rufous hare-wallaby, the Tasmanian devil, the Murray cod and glossy black cockatoos. More money needs to be alllocated.

08.01.2022 Today, the CSIRO and Bureau of Meteorology have released their State of the Climate 2020 report http://www.bom.gov.au/state-of-the-climate/

We are still committed to having the site added to the Park but this is fantastic news and we are incredibly grateful for all the community support. https://www.industry.nsw.gov.au//proposed-lease-of-katoomb

04.01.2022 A strong act of conviction by Catherine Cusack crossing the floor to stand up for koalas.

02.01.2022 What do you think about this? Please read and if you can, turn up tomorrow and show your support.

01.01.2022 GREAT NEWS! Our Blue Mountains Mayor Mark Greenhill wrote to the state government expressing concern about our wildlife. "With between 70 and 80 percent of the world heritage area impacted by the black summer bushfires, we see more native animals close to Blue Mountains roads and built up areas."... He asked the state government if we could have koala and wildlife signs put up throughout the City of Blue Mountains and on the highway. The state government has agreed. He will advise as to the locations soon but if you see koala and wildlife warning signs around the place, you will know why.
