25.01.2022 Home schooling with kids and pooch? Why not combine the two into the creative arts curriculum...

22.01.2022 Drink this and youll become super-powered!

20.01.2022 Ok. This workshop was the shortest but possibly the most mind blowing. Robert had us doing weird things like flicking our eyeballs between our thumbs one which was held out to the edge of our peripheral vision.. (I wont go on..), which, seconds later, improved our balance. It felt like we had just experienced some sort of magic. But it was science. A tantalising hint into how our brain works. We were neuro-hacking our own brains, and it was awesome. The workshop was too shor...t for all this wonder. It was like when ET gave those humans a tiny glimmer into his power, then had to go back to his spaceship and fly home. Thanks Robert for playing with our minds - in the best possible way. #robertcarruthers #scottrobinson #zhealth

17.01.2022 I had to cancel some clients and classes recently due to illness. When I got back on track, a client showed up at my door with what she called a Wellness pack." Papaya, mangoes, passionfruit, a huge tub of creamy greek yoghurt, high-powered Swedish probiotic milks and yoghurts - Wow. Thank you Peta for your huge heart, thoughtfulness and kindness. You are a true gem. With much gratitude, Sarah xo

16.01.2022 Breathing can be one of the most confusing things when you first start Pilates exercises. Being the first key principle of the Method, it is worth spending a few seconds observing how we breathe. In this video: breathe in and as the lungs fill with air watch the diaphragm go down. Breathe out and the diaphragm naturally lifts back up. Try this any time, and youll be starting to access the key to calmness, centering, and the top of your core.

15.01.2022 A night to remember not only because it was fun, but also because it was a welcome escape from the omnipresent smoke and collective stress accumulated over many weeks of colossal bushfires in our community.

15.01.2022 URGENT Pilates for WIRES The WIRES search and rescue team have run out of medical supplies. They are in desperate need for wound dressing, gauze, bandages, vet wrap, manuka wound gel, kangaroo milk and other important items. I will donate 100% of my income from the next 3 Pilates classes to help purchase these items for animals immediate needing critical care.... These classes will be at the Katoomba Masonic Hall on: Tuesday 14th Jan at 12pm Tuesday 21st Jan at 12pm Tuesday 28th Jan at 12pm I hope you can make it to some or all of these classes to help our fellow creatures and bring hope to their future.

14.01.2022 As we say goodbye to 2019, I remembered a highlight of my year indoor skydiving with my 10 year old daughter for my birthday. Before the fly she whispered Mum, Im terrified. I took her hand and said Im with you. Were in this together. Just feel the fear and do it anyway. And she did.

14.01.2022 I loved learning from Josephine Key, neuro-musculo-skeletal physiotherapist. This moment catches her in the zone where her hands feel for a pelvic fundamental pattern. Did you know we all have 4 pelvic fundamental movement patterns? If they are healthy you wont even notice them, as theyll be doing their job to support you in all your daily activities. If they are dysfunctional youll know eventually, by your spine and / or pelvis becoming painful. Thanks Josephine for your decades of dedication, sharing new concepts, cues and imagery. It has inspired me to learn more about the Key Approach in the future. #josephinekey #thekeyapproach #keymovesprogramme

12.01.2022 Celebrating Womens Health Week. Look after yourself and see the flow on effect...

12.01.2022 Aahh, that end of conference feeling, when youre a mix of tired, inspired, happy and sad. We scrambled together to grab a group shot of Brad and his girl-power team from Leeon Studio Pilates.

11.01.2022 With a touch of creativity, recycled CAN look pretty!

11.01.2022 Yep. True for me. S

09.01.2022 Ok everyone, only two classes left for the year! We love our Swiss ball, so were fitting in one more class tomorrow. 12pm Katoomba Masonic Hall. All swiss balls are provided, and feel free to wear sports shoes in class for extra grip. See you there!

08.01.2022 Angela and I are joining forces to bring together Pilates Studio sessions, Pilates mat classes, Swiss Ball classes, Barre classes, Personal Training & Nutrition, Seniors Strength & Stretch, HIIT, and Zumba in a one-stop shop in the heart of Katoomba. Looking forward to working together Angela! Sarah xo

07.01.2022 It was wonderful to once again do a workshop with Dr Sherri Betz from the USA. With a formidable body of knowledge based on years of research and experience, this workshop looked at helping clients with knee pain. We started looking at the foot, walked our fingers up to the ankle joints, continued up to the knee, and followed through to the hip and pelvis. A holistic and functional perspective. It is time well spent when you learn ways to get your clients back on their feet again! Thank you for your passion for and dedication to caring for older adults, from the frail to the fit! They must love you. Thanks for coming to Oz again. #sherribetz #therapilates #pilatesanytime

07.01.2022 Mad dogs and Englishmen! The extremes we go to to try to keep a lunch date! We decided on Bells Line of Road as the Great Western Highway was closed. This was the easier option and in the end we had to turn around as BLOR also closed at Kurrajong heights. We did try!

07.01.2022 This is how you feel after the last class of the year! Thanks Annabel for your lovely classes @ Blackheath Physio Pilates. Ive really enjoyed exploring different ways into human movement, that led me outside the scope of my training. Coming back for more in 2020. #blackheathphysiopilates

05.01.2022 Every person involved in trying to save lives - plant, animal, human - deserves to be recognised as Australians of the Year. Bless you all.

05.01.2022 To our wonderful seniors, who have earned their right to have an entire festival dedicated to them, February is your month! I will have copies of the Seniors Festival program at next Tuesdays lunchtime mat class. Alternatively you can download the program of events from bmcc.nsw.gov.au/seniors-week #seniorsweek #seniorsfestival

05.01.2022 2019 Remembered I met some amazing people in the last year who have inspired me and re-energised my desire to never stop learning. The ageless Moses Urbano from San Diego California had us skipping and cartwheeling, attempting forward rolls and backward rolls in a perfect ice-breaker workshop at an international conference. Thank you for bringing out our inner child, giggle as our middle-aged bodies tried to do what we did with ease 40 years ago, and enjoy the simple joy of m...oving like we were playing. My take home quote from Moses: tight seat, loose feet (you had to be there) #mosesurbano #accesspilates #pilatesology #paaconference #SanDiegoCalifornia

05.01.2022 Our family have been doing this, and its fun! Were currently enjoying honeycomb honey (wax n all) from The Hive Berambing, homemade apple pies, and icy cold apple & ginger cider from Bilpin. Aaaah, it takes the heat off the day. #lovelocal #anextra20in2020

04.01.2022 When the calender rolled over into the new year, and we started filling in our fresh new 2020 calenders (mine has sloths doing yoga poses each month), the idea of adding new years resolutions was just too much. I read this article that suggests that actually February is a better time to make small positive changes. It had some sound advice. See what you think. https://bluemountainspilates.net.au//why-it-pays-to-start/

04.01.2022 It is a wonderful feeling to have confidence in your balance. Adversely, it is also a shock to find yourself on the ground after a sudden fall. So how is your balance these days? We tested our balance in the last Pilates class with a variety of props that were challenging but fun. Congratulations to everyone for their impressive balance skills! Well do it again next term.

03.01.2022 I heard an interview on the radio with Dr Sarah McKay, author of The Womens Brain Book. "From the womb to the tomb were required to move, eat well, sleep, immerse ourselves in nature, avoid stress, love and befriend, and seek meaning." It explores what happens inside the brains and bodies of women as they move through the significant phases of their lives.... I found it reader-friendly and very informative, and guess what - Katoomba Library have it! You may need to reserve it though, as it is snapped up as soon as it is returned. Sarah x

03.01.2022 2019 remembered contd: The next inspirational teacher Id like to thank is Cara Reeser from Canada. Her irreverent sense of humour, hearty contagious laugh and sheer experience and longevity in the industry gave us an international perspective and had us re-examining common beliefs about how to move your neck, shoulders and spine during Pilates exercises. Take home quotes from Cara: "Give people movement."... Not one size fits all. Let yourself be creative. Thank you Cara. #pilatesaligned #theheritagetraining #pilatescenter #pilatesanytime #carareeser
