01.01.2022 Thank you to everyone involved in yesterdays trial and everyone who came on-line on ZOOM and Facebook, it was a great learning experience. Over the past few months we have been busily improving our sound quality along with getting better at online streaming using ZOOM. We have found the best/optimised settings and really improved the quality and experience for those who come online. Yesterday our ZOOM steam was pretty good and there are things we can do to improve it, more t...o come on that. On Facebook our video was great but the sound was muffled and on reading I have found that Facebook was taking our sound that we have worked on and can deliver at almost broadcast quality 24-bit/192kHz stereo sound is converted by Facebook to 96 Kbps mono while also compressing the video, thus the muddy sound. To get around this there is some software called OBS that can reduce the bitrate without terribly affecting the quality and is what most Vloggers seem to use. That said, its a lot of work so Im thinking that we forget about the Facebook steam and just go with ZOOM as it gives us a better sound outcome, its easier to manage at a gig and its where our on-line followers have been going for our Events. Strum soon See more
