23.01.2022 Hello & welcome to our page! If you're a passionate reptile keeper or simply just admire our cold-blooded Australian natives we hope you'll enjoy our photos of our collection and join us as we venture into our latest project in the world of Bluetongue morphs. So from Django, our Hypermelanistic Bluey and all of us here at Blueprint Reptiles, thank you for joining us and we hope you stick around

17.01.2022 I really have to start giving this girl the attention she deserves! Axanthic Reduced Pattern Eastern shaping up to be a real beauty and putting on some good size now at ~8 months. Last photo is back in Feb not long after acquiring her off Joe Ball. Real keen to see what she can bring to the party next season when paired with say the T+ or Hyper.... More pics up on our Insta @blueprint_reptiles

17.01.2022 Django the people's skink Always a favourite with visitors, young and old. But hey, who doesn't love a black bluey right...??

16.01.2022 Small batch food prep this evening for our Blueys... Every keeper/breeder will usually have their own recipe or concoction they put together for their animals, and some will feed straight commercial or wild-based foods. This is just what we choose to feed our skinks based on recommendations from other reputable breeders, which I mix up a bit every few weeks and it's served us well so far. First image shows the basic dry components, the Purina kibble (we will alternate between... the flavours) & Vetafarm Lizard Food which get blasted in our coffee grinder. (This grinder is great for small batches and does the job quick and easy & we will blend up a few cups of each and store in a air tight container for later use) Also added to the mix is a bit of Wambaroo Reptile Supplement and of course, some calcium powder. For the wet portion, we use mainly a commercial RAW dog food, the same we feed our Bulldog which adds some convenience. We alternate between Turkey, Roo and even Rabbit & Beef. A raw egg is also thrown into the mix, shell included. Although we didn't include them in this batch, we will often also add in super worms, woodies and other feeder insects, fresh and dry at times as an added treat. We combine all ingredients together to make a mixture that's wet enough for the animals to digest easily but still firm enough to be able to roll up into Bluey Balls To get the right consistency, you can add a bit of warm water or extra dry mix. We will feed 2 or 3 of these small balls to each skink, 2 times a week. Extra feed produced each batch is put into silicon ice cube trays to be frozen for future use. I cube is basically equivalent to 2 balls so we will pop out enough for the next feed the night before and then in the morning divide and serve If you do things a bit different or have some other options, or even if you would like some more info, be sure to let us know. We're still only new ourselves to using this kind of diet for our skinks, so we're always open to input from others. If you feel more comfortable taking advice from someone with MANY years of experience with Bluetongue diets, I highly recommend getting in touch with Joe at bluetonguelizard.com.au or Roger at Bluetonguemorphs

15.01.2022 Such a poser.... Held this Hypo girl back from last season and she's powering along. Will be looking to acquire a nice boy to pair her with in the future, possibly a Zero if we can get our hands on a nice one. If you have such a beasty, be sure to get in touch.

15.01.2022 Our big double-het boy 'Chunk' love to stretch his legs and explore on cleaning day... Great patterns for a wild-type, this guy is het T+ & white.

13.01.2022 If you're lucky enough to keep species that are local to your area or at least in similar conditions, I've always been a firm believer that if you have the space and ability to house them outside in a large enclosure with a natural style setup. These are some snaps of one of our current outdoor setups when we first built it almost 2 years ago. What was an old garage that turned into an entertaining area then to a storage area for random crap, we transformed into a large walk...-in enclosure for our WDs along with a few Eastern & Blotched blueys and our old mate 'Hoppy' the Eastern Bearded Dragon. Things look much different inside these days and things are quite overgrown but we're planning on a revamp very soon to improve & change a few things to make it more suitable and easier to maintain.

12.01.2022 We're getting close to the weekend, you can almost taste it....

10.01.2022 From one end of the scale to the other, our T+ Albino is a stark contrast to the Hyper! Pearlescent white, mottled with light orange hues and denatured black bands which are almost lavender after a fresh shed, she is an absolute stunner in our eyes Another one of Joe Ball's lines, this girl will bring plenty to the table in future pairings, also being Het White.

07.01.2022 It's 100 days at the end of this month but still unsure if old mate Chunk has hit the mark this season with this big T+ girl.. . Carrying bubs or just chunky what's your thoughts??

06.01.2022 Eastern Water Dragons (Intellagama lesueurii) were the very first reptile species that we kept and have been in our lives on and off for the better part of 20 years. Being a species that live in colonies in the wild, we have always kept them in small groups and mainly in outdoor enclosures as they are a native species to the area that we are located in. We currently have a group of 5 adults including one large male housed in a large outdoor enclosure as well as a pair of juve...niles indoors. This includes a Gippsland water dragon (Intellagama lesueurii howitti), another subspecies that displays different coloration with more intense greens and flushes of yellow and orange on the adult males that can be quite striking, just like their Eastern cousins. Still to this day they are our favorite species to keep as the interactions amongst the group, and indeed us as keepers can be quite interesting and amusing to watch, especially during breeding season.

04.01.2022 Our first pairing - Double-het T+/White Male to T+ Female We had 2 successful locks out of 3 attempts over the space of a week so now we wait with fingers crossed.

03.01.2022 Cleaning day, again... These guys don't mind tho as they get some fresh air and sun for the day . Rewind back to Feb and this Axanthic Reduced Pattern was the smallest of our group, and being pure Eastern it was assumed it would always be the case.. . Now, at roughly 9 months of age she's not only caught up to her Northern buddies she's actually starting to overtake a few of them, coming in at 606g & 50cm on the dot ... You go girl

02.01.2022 Looking to bring something new and exciting into our collection last season, we made the decision to jump into the Bluetongue morph craze that's taken off over the past few years... Looking to get our hands on some quality critters to begin our project we turned to Joe Ball from bluetonguelizard.com.au. Included in the small group of Blueys we acquired from Joe was this stunning multi-het Hypermelanistic boy that we named Django. Django carries the genes for not only Hypermel...anism but also White Northern, Annery & possibly T-Albino which will see him play a vital part in our future breeding as we work to produce some of the awesome multi-gene morphs including the Blackout, Platinum, Alabaster & Mercury morphs and even the famed Lava if he proves out to carry the Albino gene. Currently sitting at just over 500 grams and 48cm at 8 months of age he's a chunky beast that's full of character. Exciting times ahead with this guy on board

01.01.2022 Certainly a bit disappointing we won't have a bunch of these guys running around this season... Although on the other hand, the bank account with be thankful not having to feed 30+ additional mouths
