12.01.2022 Today is Blue Ribbon Day, which coincides with National Police Remembrance Day and is a chance for the community to say thank you to those who protect and serve our community and ensure the 170 police officers who have fallen in the line of duty are never forgotten. Today we pause to remember and honour the lives of the 23 Victoria Police officers, Protective Services Officers, Police Custody Officers, Victorian Public Service staff and Police Chaplains who died between 29 Se...ptember 2019 and 29 September 2020. This includes Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor, Senior Constable Kevin King, Constable Josh Prestney and Constable Glen Humphris who were tragically killed in the line of duty on the Eastern Freeway in Kew on 22 April 2020. Thank you to our local Eyewatch - Campaspe Police Service Area police members for their commitment to protecting and serving our local community. 10.01.2022 Blue Ribbon Day 29 September | National Police Remembrance holds a special place in our hearts because it's the community's chance to pay tribute to our police; to its members who have paid the ultimate price and to acknowledge all those who continue to serve. This year it means more than ever. 2020 has been especially challenging for Victoria Police, tragically losing four members in April, supporting our efforts in the fight against COVID-19 and locally with the cross border restrictions. Take a moment on the 29th to pause and reflect on the amazing job our Victoria Police members do to serve and protect Victorians. We would also like to acknowledge our local Eyewatch - Campaspe Police Service Area police officers for the job they do supporting our Echuca Moama community. Thank you.
