10.01.2022 That terrible day 12 months ago is fast approaching next week. I would like everyone that has a bottle of The Christopher to open it and have a drink in his memory on Christmas Day or Boxing Day. Those that do not have one and want to participate I have plenty at the winery come and grab one, I will look after you. Let's keep his memory alive and talk about all the good times we had together or swing past the Mr Crawford cemetery and say hello. Let's not make it a sad day but a celebration of his life and find some solace for us all. 'Forever in my Heart'

10.01.2022 The changing colours of the seasons. The vines senscencing while the hills become green again marking the end of another vintage (# 23 for me). It has been probably the most challenging yet. Dry winter, rain and wind during setting, high fire danger and potential smoke taint issues during summer, all culminating in low yields of high quality grapes and now lower sales due to Covid 19. The small amount of wine we made this year is of exceptional quality and will be enjoyed in the years to come when this is all over.

The Christopher is dedicated to a young aspiring Barossa winemaker who passed away in '18. The wine is a fine tribute to the young man with a suitably youthful panache. Blackcurrant, underbrush, licorice strap, turned earth. The 4yo strikes a firm structure with a seductive array of black and red fruits keeping close company with ripe tannins and integrated oak.
